The inspired words of Isaiah still call to us who want to hear them.God commands us to keep one day of the week for him only. The Religious Orders that I know are dedicated by their Rule to turning everyday into a perpetual sabbath by the complete control of lives dedicated only to God. I try to give an hour to thoughts of worship and prayer. Isaiah tels us that we can always tutn back from sin and again place God where he always should be at the centre of our being.

Jesus as usual straight answers the carping criticism  of the Pharisees. "Poor Pharisees" they must have been shocked to the core of their beings by the uneducated son of a carpenter from Nazareth. Nazareth! what good as ever come from there? Every time they seek to find fault Jesus is able to rebuke them even with the words of scripture His disciples too must have had qualms about his teaching and have been in awe of the learned priests and doctors of the Law who tried to find to find fault with that teaching, but in the end they could only beat the man by the ultimate "ad hominem"  argument . They killed him.

Dear Lord please be God and show to our sinful world your power to bring about your love of peace in all the warring zones.Your ways are beyond human understanding but 2000 years ago by the Resurrection you called us all into the way that leads to you Father Son and Holy Spirit. Mary and all the saints are with you in that state of eternitity which we call Heaven; accept their pleas on our behalf and keep me, my family and all the peoples of the world safe from the imbecilic, Satanic unholiness that pollutes and destroys.
