As with all human written recorded history so it is with the Scriptures. No matter what is written the reader is always interpreting as he reads. 

During the reading from Sirach/Ecclesiasticus I was applying his words to my experience and acknowledged that my only friend is my wife. I have at various times been part of friendship groups when to alleviate the loneliness of separation from our families I have shared in common activities with other temporary "bachelors".

The "friends" from those years are either dead or dispersed throughout the world.

In these latter years of my life I have been striving to become a "friend of God". I have tried to live each day in accordance with his will and with my mind and will focused on my understanding of the guidance that is recorded in the Old and New Testaments. 

I like to think that "my understanding" is more than some human thinking just as the Bible is more than a book and that I can make the psalmist's words "Grant me the insight that I may keep your law and observe it wholeheartedly, guide me in the path of your commands, for in them is my delight." truly mine.

Dear Lord, let me thank you for the steadfast care my wife has had for me and my family. Help me to atone for my sins and inspire her with grace to once more know the "loving kindness" that we all can know as we turn back our hearts to thee. Amen

I have read the Mass readings for today and hope to be able to respond in the way that Jesus teaches us to know him in this life. 

During the whole of my life I know that I am not alone in wondering  how it is that God allows the world to so obviously exist in a way so contrary to his revealed will.

The horror being perpetrated on the Jewish People is an event that seemingly has had no retribution on its instigators, was a reality for millions of souls during my first 4 years of life.

Since then millions of people have lived and died in Palestine as a reactions to  the evil created at that time but the families and descendants of the perpetrators have gone from strength to strength in their prosperity.

Each one of the human beings who were and still are involved in trying to resolve this particular evil that we have created in this world by our disobedience to God could have followed the way, the truth and the life revealed by Jesus, IAMSONFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT and in so doing would be now living in a very different reality.

The moral teaching contained in Ecclesiasticus is not so different from that of Jesus. God, however, was still aware that his "image and likeness" was not following His way of truth. He knew that His chosen ones were diverting themselves into self-centred being that another Jesus son of Sirach, amongst others had warned them about. The very Being of Our Father demanded a complete atonement and renewal of His created ones.

The incarnate Son not only continues the direct teaching of the inspired prophets he also "crosses" the existential chasm between human time and eternity and by his Resurrection he enables every human soul to become what our Father seeks from us.

Jewish pious theology could produce the aesthetic wonders of the psalms and the philosophy of Sirach but there was something missing from the Faith of the Temple that could only be corrected by the grace of the Incarnate Son.

In this age, as our Pope comes to the end of his long life I hope that he can clear his conscience and meet his maker without fear. 

Here on Earth, however, I continue to wonder how the long line of heirs to St Peter could have worn their triple crowns without ever even attempting to divest "the Church" of its roles in this world and its accumulated wealth. 

Our only reason for living is to do the will of Our Father. It is has never been possible to do this following the guidance of the Church that has never been able to live up to "My kingdom is not of this world" and actually, was, for centuries a temporal ruler of thousands of "little ones".

Tuesday Week 7 Ordinary Time

At the moment I am sitting down to write my response to the Word of God that is part of today's liturgical celebration and as I do so I am aware that the Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church is hovering between life and death. In my prayer for him, I pray that I too may in the moment of my death be aware of how my life has been sinful and how I still require the grace of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT to bring my soul into the previously unseen Glory that God has prepared for us.

All the disciples were men such as we are. Even more so than we are for they were all Jews who had been immersed in the revelations made only to the descendants of Abraham. Jews' acceptance of their exclusive relationship with IAMIAM had been way beyond their self awareness and they had become incapable of accepting the reality of God but had created and lost themselves in a "Law" that filled them with a human pride that they mistook for true worship of God.

Today, Jesus is walking with Apostles and disciples. They still do not fully comprehend the Jesus who teaches them not from the  commentaries of  Scribes and Pharisees but directly from the scriptures and  from his own being. They cannot understand what "rise from the dead" can possibly mean but the miracles that they have witnessed confirm in their minds that they are following the Messiah who will bring earthly power and glory to their nation.

They are human; "what's in it for me?" is a normal reaction to any new event. Jesus knows that none of his followers have yet been prepared for the ultimate truth he will reveal during the most important three days that have ever taken place in human time.

He tells them then and all who have lived since then that leadership in the church  he is to found on St Peter is a matter of service to other people not as it is in all other human institutions of the power wielded over them.

"My kingdom is not of this world".

May God have mercy on the soul of the Pope and inspire those in conclave to seek out ways in which they can demonstrate to our world that Church is not just another human institution but can become the Spiritual Body of Christ who shows by his life, death and Resurrection that he is Son of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. He is our only "way, truth and life".

Monday Week 8 Ordinary Time

In the mass readings for today, Our Father reveals to us his being that has never known a beginning.

The "iam" that is my "being" seems to begin each day that I wake up and know myself to be still alive.

Each day is different for me but "iam" always "miniminiscule" in this Universe.

It is impossible for me to "think" about God but I can respond to revelation.

This morning's first reading "reveals" that he is of one being with the wisdom that knows himself and that there is within creation a rationality which we have to "fear" for we are all, as am I, tiny of the tiniest  in the presence of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

The psalmist gives voice to the response we all have to have when we try to ponder all that God has revealed of himself.

This morning's Gospel let's us know that Jesus, Son of God,  is also "True Man". He is as human as are we all and can be irritated, but never sinfully so, by our persistently misunderstanding that to believe is to trust and that if we trust, we have to pray; ask for God's help to be sinless in all our doings.

We are all "free beings" and so can all choose how to live out each day as we come into it. The prayer that we all have to make is to know that God has already shown the loving trust he has in us. We respond by conforming our freedom to his will and thus confound the evil that we individual human beings continually create by our willful disobedience.

Dear Lord, help me truthfully  to repent for my sins and to know that I have not done your will throughout my life with the faithfulness that your Love of me requires. You know that I am full of love for your creatures on Earth but do not really know what it is to return your Love for me. You know that each day my being, my wisdom continually fluctuates and I am never consistently at peace as I am now at this moment. Even now there is a nagging from my inmost being that I have to deliberately silence but do so willingly. May my prayer become one with the prayers of Mary and all the saints as we  seek their help in overcoming  evil in this world and imploring the forgiveness that Jesus bestows on all the penitent both living sinners and Holy Souls in Purgatory. Amen.

Sunday Week 8 Ordinary Time

I know that  my preoccupation with a family event is not going to help this, my morning's response to the the mass readings for today. 

All today's readings stress that God is "Compassion and Love".

This does not mean that we can preempt forgiveness and continue in our sin.

The First Commandment tells us that we should love our God with total commitment and by so doing we become part of the family of mankind that links all of the souls that accept the Loving Mercy that Jesus' blood pours out to become the Mystical Body of Christ; the New Holy Family founded by Christ in his words from the Cross to Mary and John.

Jesus always put  conforming to his FATHER of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT's will as his first priority while living in human time. That is the target of which we too should never lose sight and thus become able to fulfill the words of St Paul by becoming "the man of Heaven" even as we live out our lives on Earth.

St. Peter's Chair in Rome

In the Liturgical Calendar that was in use during the first years of my life this feast was celebrated on my birthday so it was always of interest to me. In those days today was the feast of St Peter's Chair in Antioch.

The Liturgy is not the only change in Jesus' foundation on the faith of Simon bar-Jonah that I have witnessed during my Lifetime.

I often wonder why the Incarnation happened at the time it did.

I am sure that the many failures of the Chosen People to maintain their relationship with IAMAIAM in this world came about because of the sins of each individual Jew. The righteousness of some was not enough to overcome the evil created by the sins of the many. 

Mankind has been created with the freedom able to achieve the Holiness that is the reflection of the creative Love that bursts forth from IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT and can be recognised by each soul that is created to become image and likeness.

Our God knows each one of us. 

We have created for ourselves communal units of being that share their human love. God responded to the collective Jews by revealing to the Prophets how each individual unit of being had to become holy.

No man can know God.

God knows that IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is impossible for us to know and before time began, in the beginning Son is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Jesus is true "Light from light", "True God from True God" "Begotten not made" He is the Being through whom all of creation comes into existence. He is also Son of Mary for the holiness that is the purpose of creation is not thrust upon us for us to discover as are the laws of material science. The complete revelation about mankind's place in creation is made by the only "true man".

Two thousand years ago in Palestine, Jesus walked, talked and completed the wonder of God's revelation.

He inaugurated a community of believers who were to maintain the visible signs of God's love for creation, the blood that flowed during the passion of Our Lord becomes the grace of the Sacraments.

Of course, I still do not know why Jesus came when he did. 

Yesterday Jesus referred to the people of his time on Earth and to us also, for we still have the Lord present among us, as "an adulterous and sinful generation". I now should ask of "Our Father" whether there has ever been a time in the history of the world when any of one of mankind's, with the exception of the Holy Family, families, churches, nations been without sin.

If we keep ourselves free from sin each of us can be part of the Mystical Body which can join each individual human being, through Mary and John, to the Crucified Lord whose human pain becomes the Glory of the Resurrection, The Saviour of the World.

We can only do this for ourselves for, although Church can help us, Jesus is the only Eternal Word and Temple through which we all came into being and can also return to God. 

As individual's we came and it as individuals we shall all return.

Friday week 6 Ordinary Time

In the Old Testament the Jews are inspired to keep a record of their response to God's revelation of himself. The Old Testament is the only record on which we can follow the development of our ensouled bodies that comprise humanity. 

In it we can find the words of those, who, just as I am trying to do at this moment, tried to have a rational response to the Being who is still the Creator of the wonders of the objective reality in which they became subjectively self-aware.

Adam, Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David are some of the names, inspired by IAMIAM, of those who strove to keep humanity aware that we are all more than the DNA which we share with material creation, for the "I" which is intimately known by each individual one of us is also known by God.

The Chosen People were surrounded on Earth by powerful empires, advanced philosophies, dynamic cultures but only they were chosen to remain conscious that ONEGOD loved and guided them.

Throughout the Old Testament prophets were the messengers who reminded them that the Law of Moses was the not some human thinking. God commands us to live with each other and that each one of us has to obey the ten Commandments revealed to Moses on Mount Sinai.

In the announcement of the Incarnation to Mary, God finalizes his support for the Jews and in so doing reveals that IAMIAM is in reality IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

The Tower of Babel symbolises the break up of Adam's family on earth. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the unifying Son, true man and true God who enables us to follow the Law of Moses and use the freedom "image and likeness" of our being to choose to be part of this "adulterous and sinful generation" or follow the way, the truth and the life to remain standing with Mary, and all the angels and saints dead in body but living in the light that is the life of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Yesterday I was knocked back by a very unimportant accident coupled with the Old Testament reading about Noah and the Flood. 

I do these reflections as my response to all that the Scriptures reveal and I want to accept both the Old and the New as the record of God's dealings with mankind. He is "Our Father" and we his children who are born  to do His will on Earth. We are part of the concrete creation that is generated as material being out of the Love that is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT'S self-awareness.

As I wrote the above, I too was aware of myself and realised that the sincerity that produced that paragraph was truly from my heart; at those moments I was totally concentrated into being a "human will" striving to become an image and likeness, with limited capacity for knowing but able to choose to serve and to love.

My denture plate broke.

I know that there are millions of us alive today who  have never known anything but ill-health during their lives There are many wicked men living at this moment. Children are being abused. Babies are being killed even before they have been born.

But from the moment I woke up yesterday I became totally self absorbed in finding a solution for the broken artificial teeth which I only need for cosmetic purposes as I can eat without them. Even though I do pray and try to prepare for my death on a daily basis, it is very easy for me to lose sight of the purpose of my being and become enmeshed in the things of this world. 

We are surrounded by wonders, bodily delights and ourselves. It is possible for some of us to create a personal self that is never troubled by thoughts of death and is ready to accept as "sleep" the inevitable end of life.

For me a broken dental prosthetic was enough to completely fill my awareness of being when I should have been concentrating on Noah and the first of IAMIAM'S covenants.

Dear Lord, help me to believe the stories of Genesis. It is easy to believe all the events of the New Testament for although viewed as "supernatural" by all the human witnesses,  they are "natural" for SON of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. Forgive me for all the times that I have sinned by putting my corporal and social being before the care of my soul. Help me to continue to live aware of the sufferings you underwent to enable all the peoples of the world to return to IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. The best thing of all that I can ask for would be the end of time and your return to inaugurate the New Creation when you will be all in all but first of all forgive me my sins, those of my family and all sinners on Earth and bring pardon to the Holy Souls. May my prayers be joined with those of Mary and all the Angels and Saints who are filled with the Holy Joy that you are for everlasting human life. Amen

Tuesday week 6 in Ordinary Time

The Scriptures contain the Word of God. They are the revelations of the Supreme Being  given to the Chosen People. They contain the way, the truth and the life. The great flood that really happened in Mesopotamia is interpreted as God punishing the Earth but saving the "first remnant" as a reward for the righteousness of Noah.

The Old Testament contains other extinction events that are linked only to the Jews. I am always disturbed by the exclusiveness of the Old Testament. Even in the days of Noah there were many other races of mankind that did not benefit from the care God lavished upon him and his biological and spiritual descendants. Yes, I am jealous.

Today I believe that each one of us is created to be a willing and happy participant in the purpose of creation. I have not been left alone to do this. Each of us is known by IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT and His will for mankind was first revealed to Jews. 

They, however, lost themselves in the wonders of their own intelligence and of the world. They did not become the human beings that could fulfill God's purpose by revealing his Glory in this world. Theoretically, they lived in awe of God even to the extent of not naming him but by referring only to his existence IAMIAM but in reality they became their own religion and still are today

God knows that I am always asking what it was about the world and the Temple religion of the first century that required the completion of all revelation "I am the way, the truth and the life" Jesus, the human son of Mary and SONofIAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT to live and die as he did.

Two thousand years later I am still the disappointed disciple of the Resurrection pleading for the promised return that will be the start of the New Creation.

Dear Lord, help me to overcome the concerns that the Old Testament always raises for me. You know that I am truly disturbed by your apparent unconcern for "Gentiles". You know that I am not quibbling but sincerely facing doubts that many others than me raise in our prayerful meditations. Help me to continue to pray throughout this day that my sins may be forgiven and let my soul join the praise that is the relationship of Mary, Angels and all the Saints now in Your Presence. May all those who are continuing in their sinfulness become aware that their deeds in life that are disobedience to your revealed will result in a punishment that cannot end for it will be paid by their imperishable souls. Let my prayer be heard that at least one Holy Soul be relieved of some of his torment.

I have to say that the ongoing story of Adam/Eve and their children is very hard for me to enjoy. 

It does seem that it portrays God as a trickster who in the beginning trapped Adam and Eve into spoiling the Good that was creation and then spoilt their sons by showing favouritism to one over the other.

Today and on many other days I try to talk to God. I see myself as an ensouled body trying to become what Our Father intends me to be and often I fail miserably and become just another material body only able to know and sometimes enjoy the things of this life.

I try to talk to God because I have within me a deep seated need to do so that has only ever been met by the teaching of Jesus interpreted by the Catholic Church.

Coming to the end of my life I have realised that that "Institution" has for the most part only ever been a human institution totally embedded in the material fabric of this world but  found that the words of Jesus to his mother and John on Calvary are the spiritual foundation which brings comfort now and thus prepares me for the event that either ends or explains all.

I know that I am not the only one who has had the disquietude that is in my being today. 

Jesus seems to be exasperated by the Jews who only want "signs". Two thousand years later I am yet another voice crying out in the wilderness that is still the Jesus' (the completed revelation of God) generation. Everywhere I look at the world I see the signs that are the sins of hedonism and greed being the main activities of the mankind Jesus suffered so much to save.

IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT reveals in my heart, however, that the eternal vastness of his Love is much more than even what is the collective knowledge and experience of all the people who have ever been created, used now to create "Artificial Intelligence", and can first be seen in the smile of our own mothers and in the "fiat" of Mary who is the Sign that we have been reconciled and that all sins can be forgiven.

The Incarnation is the first sign of the revelation that God loves all of us. The life of Jesus teaches us how to begin our own step by step response to that revelation. The Resurrection is the completion of that Love that is not just an idea or an opinion but the reality that God himself shares with us. He is the first fruits of the New Creation that will also be ours.

If I lose touch with that my life has been lived in vain.

The Psalmist, this morning does not sing only of the security that we can find in the Love of the Lord but warns us that we must not mistake human contentment in life for the eternal blessing that we have been created to find only by knowing, loving and serving IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT

All of the four readings in today's liturgy repeat the same message. Jeremiah rages against God's chosen ones and warns that we must not put our trust in ourselves. Man is not the creator of mankind let alone of the Universe.

Saint Paul explains to those of weakening faith in Corinth and of all times since then that Jesus did live and die but it is the overpowering event of the Resurrection that we must have no doubts about for that is the completion of God's revelation, the "why" and the "how" with which we must live out our lives on Earth.

Many billions of thoughts and words have been written about Jesus and how he alone gives rational meaning to our human life. Amongst all those words "The Lord has risen and appeared to Simon." is the  sentence on which the total revelation by God and our relation to him stands.

All the Old and New Testament contain the record of how God prepared us to become witnesses to this event. The pristine Temple and Law of Moses became human institutions and thus failed to be the evidence of the "Will of God" in this world. The Church founded on St Peter has survived but is growing evermore weaker as its role as a human institution becomes less tenable even than when it was struggling to dominate the secular world on its own terms, by its wealth and power.

Our Saviour in this morning's gospel is not addressing the Temple or the Scribes and Pharisees but is speaking directly to each one of us, even if we are Scribes and Pharisees. 

The Apostles stood with Jesus and saw a multitude. Jesus, however, did not see a multitude as he began to speak, IAMFATHERRSONHOLYSPIRIT saw each person with the love that has created each one of them and us too and blessed us with the eternal love that we and they can ponder within our hearts.

We and they, however, are also free beings and can choose to remain enslaved in the wonder and magnificence that is the worldly creation of mankind alone but Jesus warns us that if we do we will be rejecting the Eternal Reality of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT  that he reveals by his life, death and Resurrection.

We shall never know what it was God had intended for his "image and likeness" to be in this created Universe.

The disobedience of Adam/Eve created the sin which has striven to dominate human life ever since the original place for man has been closed off to us as a result of that sin.

It seems that IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is a "hard master" but he has never stopped loving his creation for that is his being. The trinity of persons is the perfection of being that is the source of all that is good. It is impossible for God to create anything other than good. 

We can only respond to "Our Father" from the starting place in which we can choose to be during our mortal life-times. 

That place is revealed to us by Scripture. IAMIAM revealed his loving creativeness first in the disobedient  Adam/Eve. Then He chose a people to receive direct revelation of His being but their freedom was misused to become merely a justification for their own self-centredness. 

On Calvary, the dying true man, Son of FATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT became the source of the grace that is the Holy Spirit renewing the face of the earth revealed to us in the Resurrection.

Although the original garden is closed off to us, Our Father is still only loving and merciful and supports us throughout our lives so that we can choose to be one with the spiritual Body of Christ the Church of Love, the New Holy Family, "Woman behold your son, son behold your mother", that is most definitely, "Not of this world" but founded in the place where never ending Divine Mercy flooded out in human blood. 

Calvary is the place where we have to stand  to choose to live holy lives. If we do that we will become what Our Father has created us to be.

Dear Lord, help me be true to these words with which I try to know love and serve. I think that my intentions are sincere but you know how I still doubt myself as I know that there is no sin of which I am incapable given a change of circumstances. Let me aspire to the holiness with which you lived on Earth for I do know that I am the sole reason for my failures to do your will on Earth as it is done in Heaven. Let my prayers be joined with those of Mary and all the saints for the forgiveness of sinners both in the fluctuations of this world and the certainty of Purgatory. Amen.

Thursday Week 5 in Ordinary Time

Today is one of the special days which although of Christian origin has been commercialised to the extent that it has become part of the economic culture of the world and has lost all connection with the saint after whom it was named.

The last time I attended mass in the local church I was denounced from the pulpit for writing a letter which had been published in a national "iffy Catholic" magazine complaining about the presence of Christmas Trees in Catholic Churches.

St Valentine's day and Christmas day are alike in that both have been taken over by the "World" and although the name remains the holiness of "Saint" and the saving perfection of "Christ" have been long forgotten by the people of Mammon, who rejoices at this evidence that we are losing sight of our souls that are mired in Godless Materialism.

The material of which we and all the Universe are made is not evil, God looked at it and saw that it was good. We in our lives in this world have to obey God and thus we can remain good. If we forget God and fill our beings with the delights of material reality we are creating the evils for which many of us put the blame on God.

God did not only create a material Universe. We are all individual souls that are known with Divine Love as spiritual image and likeness. This image and likeness is complete in all respects and so part of our essential being is freedom. This freedom has enabled us to find and understand the impossibly small particles and impossibly great space that make up the material Universe.

We did not find God either in the heights or the depths. He revealed himself to us and informed us that it is by our free recognition of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT that we become what he intended for  Adam/Eve in the garden. They were to share in his joy of being.

Just as Adam/Eve were created to do, we either do this by using our bodies to continue the virtuous joy of procreation or choosing to dedicate our complete being, body and soul, to the "follow me" with which IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT still speaks to our souls

In today's Gospel Jesus is walking back from Tyre and is in the Decapolis on the other side of the Jordan. For most of his life on earth Jesus lived anonymously in the private life of the "Holy Family". Today's Gospel is not the only time that he orders the recipient of healing to keep silent about their miraculous cure. 

He also us tells in another place, that we should not keep the light of our holy joy that comes with faith, hidden. It is no shame to be truly happy in this world.

Dear Lord, help me to remain true to the "know, love , serve" of the penny catechism for those are three words that if followed can ensure that I am on the way. Faith, hope and charity are another trinity of words that can result in doing your will on earth. IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is name that is above all. You are the Ever-Greater that is our all loving Father who condemns sin but has forgiven sinners who use his grace to ask for forgiveness in sincerity. May my prayers join those of all other sinners on earth and those welcoming the punishment that is the Justice of Purgatory. And may Mary and all the saints continue to plead my case before you in Heaven. You know that I am weak and easily distracted even as I type these words of petition. Have Mercy. Lord, Have Mercy.

Thursday week 5 Ordinary Time

 "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" is the question to which the only one possible answer is the one which is guided by grace.

Man's intelligence is able to interpret the evidence found in the material of this world that is the reality that we can see, touch, taste by using our senses and thus explain the processes by which the universe was created. 

Science does not lie about bodily matter. Nor does God's revelation about our souls.

The Book of Genesis is the beginning of the revelation that is God's evidence of Himself. He is limitless "being" and revealed as such to the descendants of  Adam/Eve. He informs Abraham that he is "IAMIAM" and that he is not an idea within the mind of man but the living reality of the "Good" that he sees in his decision to become manifest.

God created us to be free so it is "good" that we are not straitjacketed by "code" as are our bodies. Those " in charge" of the  world claim that it is a heavy responsibility but, in fact, each individual's personal response to the revelation of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT contained in Old and New Testaments is the only response that matters in the infinite spiritual "Kingdom of Heaven".

Our Incarnate God is a Jew. He has no sin in him. In his Jewish response to the gentile woman he uses a common proverbial saying which enables the woman to speak for all of us who have ever wondered why God favoured the Jews and excluded us.

It has always been hard to be a Gentile. There are, however, no crumbs under the Eucharistic Table just as the only exclusion from the merciful embrace of the Cross is by our own choice.

Dear Lord, I know that my sins make me less than a dog that is soulless but still your creation and does your will by stirring up in our hearts love for all other creatures. Jesus, your Word and Son, became true man, our brother, subject to all the limits of animal being as are all human bodies. You know how I have always been disturbed by the concept of the millions of us who have not had the opportunity to confirm their lives to your will. Help me to pray each day as a public witness to your Love. May my prayers be linked with those of all sinners in this world, always remembering that you came to save the lost sheep, and with the those of the Holy Souls who are still seeking your merciful pardon in Purgatory.

Wednesday Week 5 Ordinary Time

Adam and Eve were warned but still disobeyed. 

Jesus tells us that we cannot be "defiled" by anything that we eat. The waste that our digestive system produces is unclean matter which all animals try to clean off their bodies. We have to strive to do the same for our souls.

Jesus is never about surfaces. IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is born as incarnate Son to inform from within mankind by word and deed that we need to filter not our intake but our out-put. Our words and deeds have to be only those that in his mortal being, "true man" proves that we too can overcome the failure of Adam and Eve.

Our mortal time is not a constraint for Our Father. The first Chosen People were never completely right in their interpretation of the revelations made to them. Their wonder at their own humanity captivated them to the extent that they created for themselves over the centuries a "Law" and worshipped their own "knowledge" rather than their creator.

Jesus was born as pure humanity. He is the final revelation of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. All human knowledge is secondary to knowledge and worship of him who lived simply to reveal this to us all. 

The Apostles and Disciples who had lived with Jesus were devasted by his death which came at the instigation of their own friends and families, those of "Temple Faith". The Resurrection purged their beings just as an atomic explosion destroys the face of the earth. Their remaining years were spent in trying to understand how  Jesus had such an effect on their very beings. They obeyed the words of the Lord and spread the "Good News" throughout the world.

The New Testament, Jesus' life, death and Resurrection teaches how to live spiritual lives within our human environment. Our greatest priority has to be doing his will on Earth, knowing, loving and serving. Jesus is Jewish but he is not a Jewish Messiah. He is not only True Man but is, first of all, the Word who is also God. We have to follow his way of life recorded in the Good News for he is the only Son in IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

All the Institutional Churches are warned but still disobey.

"My Kingdom is not of this world"

Dear Lord, help me to act in the way that I have always wanted but failed miserably by losing the struggle that Adam/Eve also failed. Obedience should come easy for I know that you are a loving master who knows that we can share the Love that he has for all his people. We can love each other and frequently do but I have also known the opposite of love driven by my sins. You have on the cross paid the price impossible to imagine, for our sin. There is only one sin and that is the disobedience that manifests itself in many ways. The sins of the world and flesh are all too obvious in this world but only you and I are aware of the sin with which I disfigure my soul. May I receive of the grace with which you respond to the prayers of Mary and all the Angels and Saints and may all sinners be open to that grace as are the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Amen

Tuesday week 5 of ordinary Time.        Our Lady of Lourdes 

This morning's mass-readings remind us that mankind did not create itself. We are all part of the Universe that is created by IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT's loving awareness of and joy in his own being, God knows that he is and creates out of that Love.

Mankind is gifted beyond all other bodily creatures. In his self-awareness and rationality he is above all other animals. He is also "image and likeness" in his freedom of soul and power of will. We can choose to adapt and confine ourselves to God's revelation of himself or chase after the material illusions we generate as we lose ourselves in our own egos and prepare to vanish in solely identifying ourselves with the flesh that is certainly going to die.

Our Father knows that his beloved creation, mankind, is capable of much more than we have already achieved with the material of this world. Even though Adam and Eve instantly fought against our Creator he still trusts us with "freedom". All code is based on "on or off". We are not spiritually encoded but trusted to always become "yes" to the loving revelation God never ceases to make. 

I know that mankind fails to be true to itself and its maker whenever we choose to continue on the path that exults in its own power, beauty and creative ability. We have all been created by and to "know, love and serve" the Supreme Being.

Today Jesus faces the "Temple Religion" of his Jewish Humanity and warns for all time that "Institutional Faith" uses our freedom to perform all sorts of "workarounds" when faced with any fundamental question which requires us to completely deny ourselves in choosing to do God's will.

The Pharisees retained ownership of the wherewithal to take care of their aged parents by claiming that it was "dedicated to God". Our "Christian Nations" have always engaged in wars often waged in the "Name of God". "Thou shalt not kill" is the absolute Word  revealed to Moses, reinforced by the personal "Turn the other cheek" but always ignored as nations fulfilled their various "manifest destinies" by the slaughter of each other and especially of the weaker.

This morning Jesus addresses the pharisees who are challenging him but his answer is for all mankind to hear, by quoting from Isaiah,

"This people honours me with their lips, but their heart is far from me, in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine the commandments of men".

Dear Lord, help me to live in the pure light of your grace and thus become able to know that I can live according to your will by always being open to Love that you pour out to each individual that composes humanity. We can only do your will when we say "yes" and acknowledge that you are always there to lead us into the holiness that Jesus demonstrated by his life lived for others. There must have been many "anonymous saints" in history for I cannot find a time in written history when "Your will was done on Earth as it is in Heaven". May I never forget, today is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, that we Mary and John are part of your Mystical Body, a New Holy Family within which your grace safeguards me from the snares of the devil and the evil that I can create by saying "no" to what you reveal to me. Amen

The creation story that we have received from IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT through his O.T. prophets explains how I am able to sit here and read from the recorded revelations of the Love that has created our Universe and all that is, has been and will be within it.

Science can understand the matter which we all know by our bodily senses but does not tell us anything about the "being" which every little "iam" of us knows he has and is. We have been taught firstly by the prophets and finally by SON of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT that all the little "iams" will only come to the final perfection of "image and likeness" when we experience our own deaths.

Today we are challenged by scripture to use our "freedom" to accept our world as the creation of the Supreme Being. We can all understand and know the Love that is generated by the internal relationship of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT only by opening our hearts to receive the Love which is God and which knows every atom of his creation, every particle which confirms the "material being" of this Universe.

At the same time as the event recorded in this morning's Gospel great events were taking place in every corner of the World but there was then and has never since been events as momentous as those unheralded ones that took place over a three year period in Palestine 2 Thousand years ago.

Dear Lord, help me to live out this day without sin. Help me to reconcile my awareness that millions of people did not receive the revelation that you made in Palestine with my belief in the personal freedom that each one of us has to do your will on Earth. You know what I am asking for. Help me face the difficulties that my freedom accepts in its choice to do your will. Your Supreme Sacrifice  and Resurrection in Palestine is enough Mercy to forgive an infinity of Sin so I must limit my little "iam" to the things that, with your Grace, I can understand. Let me join Mary in pondering within my heart and let my prayers join those of he the heavenly in supplication for all sinners on Earth and in Purgatory to truly acknowledge our guilt and humbly beseech your pardon.

Isaiah's first reaction to the concrete vision of God that is the beginning of his inspiration to preach the Word, is one of fear.

I think that I have experienced something like that fear when in a repeated childhood dream I have been part of a vast surging emptiness which I have tried to capture in my mind, a rolling nothingness overwhelming me and thus woken up in nothing but fear. 

All the Old Testament prophets had one simple message from IAMIAM to his people "Become Holy for IAM Holy and you have to become my image and likeness in this finite creation of mine."

It is still the same message that St Paul preaches to the Corinthians. Jesus is the Incarnate Holiness of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. Paul did not witness the life of Jesus of Nazareth. In fact he was part of the Temple's persecution of the Twelve and their first disciples. He was captured by the Resurrection and thus filled with grace, the Holy Spirit of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT and has remained holy by continuing to do the will of God, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Isaiah became a willing disciple "Here I am send me". Paul was converted into Apostleship by "Saul wherefore persecuteth thou me?" The first Apostles are in today's Gospel going about their daily tasks and recruited by SON of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men".

All of us have to open ourselves to the Holy Spirit and pray that we can discern the right path that is our only way to fulfil the will of God. 

God speaks to us in many tongues so who benefits from new liturgical texts? The Institutional Church is still entwined with Mammon.

The Letter to the Hebrews that is brought to conclusion in this morning's first reading is written to those who are having to adjust to the "Good News" revealed by IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT through the life death and Resurrection of Jesus the incarnate Son.

The Temple is still standing in Jerusalem. The followers of the "Way" are only being persecuted by the High Priests in Jerusalem. Peter and Paul have reached Rome where the first Roman persecution is about to break out. Antioch has designated us "Christians" but the Jewish adherents of Resurrection Faith are still arguing amongst themselves what the Incarnation means for them the chosen people.

Those of us who are today aiming to live by the revealed will of God know that we are known and loved by  IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.  We cannot be "at rest" in any nation, community, religion or family to know the peace that comes from God.

We can all, however, open our own hearts to the "Good Shepherd" for he pours out over even our broken world the spiritual grace that is the "being" that is created "in the beginning" as "image and likeness" to be accessed by our choice to do his will in our lifetimes.

We have to become part of the multitude that searches out Jesus in the desolate parts of our hearts and even in the Godless Mammon that dominates the "World" we renounce in our foundational vows.

We can all find the encouragement and support we need to live out holy lives in the first century life of Christ and in the Scriptures that proclaim the Glory and Loving-Kindness of Our Father who knows us better than we know ourselves and forgives all who respond in sincerity.

To do this we have to repeat our "conversion" by never doing anything that is forbidden by our God.

We are coming to the end of the readings from the "The Letter to the Hebrews". It contains the complete guidance of how we are to live in this world guided by the preaching of the Apostles and the other church leaders of the first Christian Century.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

I had to have a look at "Wikipedia" to see which of the Herodians it was who ordered the execution of John the Baptist. Then I had to forcibly drag myself away from the fascinating history of the Idumean Dynasty which had gained control of Israel. 

Although we live in changeable time we have to be always with the Lord in the present moment that is summed up by:

                           Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

We are only alive and able to respect the will of "Our Father" in our moments of pure conscious being. That is why St Paul tells us to remain awake and in the garden Jesus reprimands the Apostles when they fall asleep.

It is not easy to live in the awareness of the presence of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT but we can do. There is nothing in our human life that is more important than conforming to the will of Our Father. Everything that we need to know and do this is revealed by Scripture and we can be sure that we can do this because

     Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Today St Mark records what he had heard from Peter about the first mission that had been entrusted to the twelve. They were to walk through the towns and villages of Palestine without any preparation and proclaim that ........?

After the Resurrection and Pentecost it is obvious that they would  proclaim Jesus to be "the Son of God" but there was nothing new about teaching the people to "repent". They were still not sure that Jesus was the "promised one" for he did not meet any of their expectations about the Messiah and his instructions for them to go, without any preparations, in absolute poverty did not impress them let alone any potential believers.

They would, however, not have been completely unknown for John had prepared the way and Jesus was mystifying "multitudes" by his presence and ability to cure the sick. He was already known to the "Temple" as a "wonder-worker" who was therefore a challenge to their place in the World as the only mediators between IAMIAM and the people of God.

Jesus tells us that "True Faith" can move mountains. He himself cured the sick by his words alone. He had changed water into wine at Cana for the humdrum reason of saving his acquaintances from social embarrassment at the non-too- happily received request of his mother. He brought dead people back to life. He fed multitudes with very little resources. He also passed on this power to defy the laws of nature to his Apostles.

It is no wonder that the miracles of Jesus caused the multitudes to flock around him. Those who first heard the words of his teaching, however, were appalled to the extent that they wanted to throw him off a cliff.

The Miracles of Jesus are by the limitless power of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT acting within temporal reality. They are part of the Good News that is the Resurrection and the teaching of Jesus. We may feel that we do not need them to believe in the teacher of the Beatitudes but they were necessary to prove to the "Institutional Temple"  that they, the Chosen Ones had lost their way and had yet again broken the covenants which their Ancestors had made IAMIAM.

Our churches are haemorrhaging the faithful and yet the Institutions continue to bolster themselves. e.g. Jubilee year in Rome. The first "preachers" sent out by Jesus were explicitly told to take nothing with them. How can today's readings be ignored by those who should be clamouring for all their worldly tasks to be removed so that they can concentrate on achieving the holiness that is the only thing asked from each one of us in this life.

We can all access the Grace that is available for all who are willing to repent. We do, however have to be 100% sincere in our admission of the guilt that needs the torture and death of Christ to create that grace which is the only source of Salvation. "Rejoice for our Saviour liveth".

Everything that we know about Jesus the "true man" amounts to less than 30% of his time on earth.

We are known in our only being by "Our Father", his and mine, 100% of the time from our conception to the last breath we take.

Today the Letter to the Hebrews continues the support that came from IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT to the first Christians. The letter can be dated but the revelation is of the eternal grace that we can receive to enable us to live in worldly time in holiness as part of the creation that God looked upon and saw that it was good.

Holiness is not only virtue that is attained by the few whom we recognise as saints. 

We know how the "friends" of Jesus carried out their mission and remained dedicated to their memory of him by spreading the Good News. Among the first Christians there are also many examples of heroic faith who lost their lives in their attempt to be true to their "vocation" which had become their freely accepted conversion to the way, truth and light that had first illuminated first century Palestine but is for the benefit of all mankind.

It was not easy for St Agatha to defend herself. St Stephen knew in the last minutes of his life that he could retract and thus avoid the rocks that were being thrown at his immobilised, helpless body.

We know the names of many saints but there were many other people of whom we know nothing who had been parts of the "multitudes" that listened to Jesus and the Apostles and then had lived "normal" lives but in a state of holiness, not as the Pharisees in search of worldly recognition, but always turned inwardly, obedient to God.

I am sure that IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT knows each of us as a unique being. He is the support of all that we do if our intentions are first of all to act within his will. I am equally sure that I must not treat lightly the sinfulness that has marred my life. I may relax in my trust in my repentance and the mercy of God but I must not forget that it is I who hammer nails through the human hands and feet of SON of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Holiness knows that Salvation was won for us, but its reality it was not as easy as reading or meditating about it.

Dear Lord, help me to grow in faith, be truly repentant for my past sins and to withstand the temptations that fill our world with the attractiveness that deceives so many of us into sin. In an ongoing effort to reach holiness, a day, an hour, a minute or even a second can be a long time. Without your grace to uplift me, I know that I could in the twinkling of an eye lose all hope of Eternity. I am however known by You and live in the unseen body of believers that turns in prayer to your Mother as she is also ours. I know that there are no "anonymous Christians" for you and that every little one of us receives the same  loving grace from you. It is our responses to it that make you seem to favour some more than others. With your help, I can drive out the roots of bitterness that can so easily germinate to bring sin into dominance in my life. I make these prayers to FATHERSONHOLYSPIRT calling on the grace won for us by Mary, Agatha and all the Saints, that we sinners still living lives on Earth and the Holy Souls in Purgatory may be forgiven our sins. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit .Amen

When the writer of the Letter to the Hebrews used the image of a "cloud" to refer to the mass of witnesses that had already testified to the events and preaching that still bring the Good News to us today and every other day that has passed since Jesus left his Apostles, his mother, and all the other eye-witnesses to the Event and events that confirmed to the Jews and revealed for all of us who have lived since those days that our sins can be forgiven, he had no idea that the same image would become the symbol for the human manipulation of matter that is able to store and record all the events of human history including what I am writing now. 

"The Cloud" is everywhere and is able to know everything. It can be accessed by anyone. It can become aware of every breath I take. It can deliver immeasurable real-time rewards in the currency of this world to its servants and creators.  It seems like God but its origin is totally man. All the previous self-created idols of mankind had eyes, but could not see, ears but could not hear, mouths but could not speak. Now our New Mammon can replicate all that our living brains can do and so fascinate us that it blocks us from responding to Our Father.

I have lived never becoming subsumed in the things of this world. Or so I tell myself. I could always despise the vanity that needed fancy clothes, that chose to watch the most banal of TV. I have sold off many of my clothes but still have two wardrobes to clear out and the last 4 hours of everyday I spend in front of the rubbish that I congratulate myself for choosing to watch because it is rubbish.

The course of the race that we all have to run in our lives is not laid out for us but is created by our own wills. St Paul, if it is he who wrote the Letter to the Hebrews, tells us that we ourselves can recognise the course that we have to become and remain sinless to follow.  

The true course that is to be completed demands that we freely align our wills to the revelations with which we too are guided. IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is the gentle breeze that blasts away all the clouds or products of "The Cloud" within which easily lose our way. He is the kindly light that never fades and can only be obscured by our refusal to be found.

Unlike their contemporary Scribes and Pharisees, the writers of the New Testament are not trying to impress anyone by the extent of their knowledge.

They are trying to fulfill, as best they can, the "Good News" that they have witnessed in person or have had proclaimed to them by those who spent three years of their lives with the person that is "The Good News". The Good News that is the outcome of all the revelations that comprise the Old Testament. 

The writer of the Letter to the Hebrews has been nurtured in and thus acquired the culture favoured by IAMIAM. The lore of  Old Testament is known to him in the detailed Law of Moses which for him had been his reason for being.

The Ancient Israelites had suffered as a people and as individuals for centuries but in the days of Our Lord they still retained both the Temple and the Law and were living in the calm of the first "Pax Romana".

IAMIAM had originally trusted Abraham and then his descendants with the ability of how to know that he is the "Lord, the God of Israel".

No man can know God. No man is without freedom. No man is sinless.

The Incarnation changes everything for humanity. Mary's son, is a man who knows God as his very self. First of all the people of Palestine then the whole world are encouraged to use our freedom to choose the Good News. Jesus, through his death and resurrection  reveals how  that the death of each  can be followed by the new life of resurrection when we walk the sinless path he treads out for us.

The only ones, Scribes and Pharisees, ever condemned by Jesus were not condemned for their learning as such but for the stubborn pride that still refuses the revelation that the  "I" of IAMIAM IS FATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Our God has never encoded anything into our conscious beings but expects us to use our freedom to believe the evidence that is revealed by those who were his prophets from of old and by the Good News that is part of our daily Christian worship whether in a Church or in our hearts.

In our personal freedom we have the ability to know, love and serve thus becoming the image and likeness that we have been created to be.

Sometimes I am just an empty being (IknowthatIam) as I wait for the moment that I come alive and begin the thought that thanks God for this known "wonder of being". That is a "thought" that should always be my spiritual environment as I live out each day. 

Even the perfection that is Jesus' human flesh, however, in the agony of crucifixion cried out in the desolation of the inevitability of bodily death felt by his human soul, the words of the psalmist "Eli, eli lamasabach tani". 

Today Mary and Joseph adhere to the Jewish ritual that required the dedication of the first-born son to IAMIAM. Two devotees present in the Temple at that time recognise the eternal perfection of this newly born child. Mary and Joseph are simply overawed and filled with wonder at the will of Our Father which is now dominating their lives.

Jesus is true man.

"True" man, however means that he was as untouched by sin as was the first Adam/Eve at the moment the freedom of being that is mankind's was created by the will of God out of his created material that is the totality of the visible universe within which we have our being.

The baby Jesus filled the souls of Mary/Joseph with an awesome exclamation of joy that was replicated in Simeon and Anna and became an irresistible attraction to the adult apostles and disciples.

Mary, from the moment of the incarnation, and the Apostles, during their real-time experience, were brought to the sure knowledge that Jesus is also Son of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT revealed "in those times" as his supreme being who knows each one of us "person to person". 

Jesus is "True God".

That group of first century Jews were the recipients of the unimaginable Good News for each and every other human being. They have been blessed in the visible "Real-Presence" and so have we who have been blessed by Our Saviour for the sincerity of our spiritual belief although we have not seen with our physical sight.

Dear Lord, help me to lose all traces of pride and know that even the greatest of this world are also souls who need your Love and our prayers. May our rulers and their stewards remember that you trust them as much as you trust me to do your will in our lifetimes and that at the moment of our deaths it is by the record of our deeds in life that we will be known/judged, not by our presentation of self or our self-esteem. Help me to live sinlessly today. Accept these thoughts and prayers for what they are. My sincere attempt to do your will on Earth as it is done in Heaven. May I too share in the praise of Mary and all the saints as together with all the angels as we seek your pardon for all sinners on Earth and in Purgatory. Amen

I don't think that we can ever "sing a "new" song to the Lord" for it seems to me that all my prayers are always a renewal of belief, praise and petition.

Each one of us who thus sings to IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is the same person as yesterday but the deeds of this day are never the same as those of yesterday as we all are carried along in the stream of the ever changing time of material reality.

The Jews who were the intended recipients of the Letter to Hebrews were intimately aware that IAMIAM had made a special revelation of himself and his intentions for mankind to their Father Abraham and to them through the Prophets.

In the first century only some of the Chosen People had accepted that there had been an event in their lifetimes that had renewed the face of the earth.

Jesus!

They had been inspired to sing with Simeon the song of praise that is the "new song" of the New Israel, the New Covenant between the now self-revealed to be IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT and all the peoples who have lived, are living or who will ever live out their lives in creation.

All we individuals from the time of our births carry with us the burden of our own cultures. The burden, St Paul's "smoked glass, or maybe the shadows of Plato's cave becomes heavier and heavier for we individuals to off-load as the density of our knowledge of the material world becomes ever more greater by the efforts of mankind acting alone in freedom.

The Jews who first refused Jesus are still with us and have been joined by many of the spiritual descendants of the first Christian believers. Although most have now added total atheism to their refusal of Jesus, they still act as the "chosen ones" and burdened by this cultural "superiority" arrogantly kill and slaughter thus denying that non-Jews have a right to live in this world.

Such opinions as these always prompt accusations of "Anti-Semitism". I believe, however, that all actions by mankind are the result of an individual man's freedom and can thus be or not be in accordance with the revealed will of God.

IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT does not march with any of the world's armies but condemns all killing by both sides in the Middle-East today or in any of the world's conflicts, past, present or to come.

I am sure that Our Father does forbid the use of violence in the corporal existence which is part of our being but I have never had to react to anyone using or threatening to use violence against me or my friends and family.

Many of the Christians who have preceded me in historical time have believed in the concept of a "Just War" but the past  destruction often wreaked in the name of God has never been willed by IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.  

The carnage of Crusaders or the destroyers of Dresden is not the actions of men who live in the  Good News brought by he who sought the forgiveness of Heaven for the Sinners who nailed him to the wood of the cross both by their sins and actual nails, in real-time, through his human flesh.

All sins can be forgiven except for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. We have been warned and yet we have always developed with our knowledge of the material world weapons that are designed to kill more and more of our fellow humans.

Could this be blasphemy against the Holy Spirit ?
