Solemnity of All Saints celebrated 2025

One of peculiarities of my generation is that the Christian Calendar which I try to follow is often adjusted to avoid????

Jesus only ever condemned the religious practices of his contemporaries when they became hypocrisy.

The Apostles had to modify their personal adherence to the "Law of Moses" to avoid binding their Gentile converts with the scruples that Jesus had condemned. 

St Paul knows that "meat sacrificed to idols" is still just meat for the act of sacrificing to idols is a meaningless act made to the non-existent, but if his newly converted are being scandalised he will avoid it to avoid adding unnecessary stress to the "weak". 

I suppose that adjustment to the Calendar and the ignoring of "Holydays of Obligation" has come about in the same spirit displayed in Paul's letters to the Corinthians but what is the spirit of "these times" that supports the "Pride" in fornication and "Slaughter of the Innocents" by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ not only to the known perpetrators but also to the politically powerful who encourage these sins?

All the events recorded in Scripture are either historically or allegorically true; they are the Truth that comes from God with the purpose of guiding us on the Way, Truth and Life. No-one has ever seen IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. The Book of the Apocalypse finalizes Revelation. 

Each generation since the Resurrection has been composed of individuals who are able to listen to the WORD, do the WILL and to finally become part of the WONDER of the Eternal Spiritual Creation revealed in this world only to John and the other visionary prophets.

We are all able to become Saints of God in Heaven for from the Cross we have all been made members of his New Holy Family here on Earth in order for us to receive the super-abundant grace of the Resurrection but it is we who have to make the right choice.

The Scriptures, Eternal Word recorded within the bodily time of past generations, have been completed. 

In them, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT has revealed all that we need to know in order to lead righteous lives on Earth.

The Old Testament is human experience recorded and interpreted by only one race. 

Even though God not only created, but also enlightened His Chosen People over countless generations, they have never been able to use their freedom to bring to the perfection required by God the self-directed righteous lives that is the only just return that can be made to Our Father for the wonder that is our being.

The New Testament completes God's revelation with the Incarnation still, at first, to the Chosen People but then to the whole of mankind both Jews and Gentiles.

In the 100 generations or so since the Resurrection, we Gentiles have proved ourselves to be no more capable of the collective holiness that is the only choice that each one of us can make to return in simple fairness the Love that "the Father has lavished on us" than are the still self-proven to be "stiff-necked Chosen Ones".

Today/tomorrow the Church founded on St Peter which very soon forgot, or never at all listened to, "My kingdom is not of this world" reminds herself that her true function is to guide "her sheep", our souls, into the safety of Jesus, the sheepfold but that the Church of Love, created  as he was being overcome by  the agony of death with his last words spoken to mankind, "Woman behold your Son, Son behold your Mother" has never failed in so doing for many holy individuals, known and unknown Saints, have been welcomed into the "mansions of the Lord" by the intercession made to her son by Mary and her New Holy Family.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Friday Week 30 Ordinary Time

All of us who are awake at this moment know that we are alive, aware both of our body and of the "I" which itself both remembers the past, experiences the present and develops as the future unfolds.

We are all thus individual units of rational being living in time and known as such by our loving creator, self-revealed to be the totally beyond human comprehension IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Our bodies are completely limited by the laws of nature but each "I" has a "God-like freedom"  to react as it wishes to whatever we encounter during our life-times.

As are we all, St Paul is a totally unique human being. It is only he who was stopped on his persecuting mission to Damascus and blinded by the Resurrection  but he is also one of the "Chosen People" and in today's letter he is horrified that the Jews who had been so blest over centuries, even to the extent of having their DNA chosen to be the human vehicle for the Incarnation should now choose to be accursed and basically declare war on God.

God knows that it has always been hard for me to believe that he did have favourites. I always feel sorry for the civilizations of  India, South-East Asia, China, Japan, for the cruelties endured by the ancient peoples of the Americas and for the tropical ignorance that still exists.

Creation is the result of the Love which is the Eternal WORD, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT, and that Love is completely revealed by Christ on Calvary. Mankind is the billions of "Egos" who have to choose to do the revealed will of Our Father for righteousness to be found on Earth.

I am awake at this moment and remembering the past, breathing in the present and praying for the future that the Lord do even more to help us his stupidly wayward children on Earth to become as were Mary and Jesus  sinless and perfect human beings in both body and soul for even after the Incarnation there have not been very many of us who have achieved the state of holiness for which we were created.

Wednesday Week 30 Ordinary Time

There is nothing that has ever existed, exists or will exist that is not known to IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT for unlimited Love, desire for only "Universal Good " is  his ever-greater being.

I only know about God what I am able to try with my limited capacity to understand from what he has revealed about himself.

Disobedience to his revealed Commandments is the "Cancel Culture" from which only the Incarnation can save the Eternal Life which he has created for each of us to accept or reject by using  freedom to choose how to behave during our human lifetimes.

This morning's letter to the Romans aims to bolster up our Faith by assuring us that in God's Eternity we are already called, justified and glorified. It can, however, raise deep questions and fears about human freedom.

A modern theologian writing about our "Christian Hope that All can be Saved" more than once asks how it is that so many Church Authorities over the centuries "know" that Hell is crammed full of suffering sinners.

St. Paul knows that even though we do not know how to pray properly the unseen Paraclete, the Spirit of IAMFTHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is always the supporting conduit of the Father's Merciful Love made manifest by Jesus' death on Calvary. 

The Holy Spirit brings us to Heaven. Our own choices bring us to Hell.

In today's Gospel Jesus warns us that we have to fully strive to cooperate with IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT's manifest will during our lifetimes. Not only is there no ambiguity about his commandments but there is also a limit to his patience. 

We all really do have to choose to do God's Will during our lifetimes for by the closing of Death's Door at the end of each life we lose our one opportunity to choose to  join Mary, the Angels, the Apostles  and all the Saints in the Glory of God, the Joy of Eternal Life in Love. 

Dear Lord, may I do thy will this day and may thy Holy Spirit overcome what it is that leads so many of us into temptation and devote ourselves to the creation of Evil which can only lead to the state of hateful pain and suffering that we call Hell.

Feast Simon and Jude

Both the first and second reading for today's Feast Day are from the New Testament. St Luke records what he had been told about the events of the day that Jesus made this public choice and appointment of  the Twelve Apostles. 

When St Paul writes to the Ephesians thirty years have passed by within which time IAMFATHERSOHOLYSPIRIT has finalised his revelations through word and deed. Everything that each human being needs to know to live lives of holiness is now present in the world, recorded in the Scriptures.

Mary, the chosen Apostles, Matthias and the "untimely one" are the only sources of the direct teaching Word, Son of God and Son of Mary made to us in the historical events of which they were participants in Palestine 2000 years ago.

We always have to remember that as soon as Popes, Patriarchs or Priests became involved with "Empire" the essential spiritual quality of the Gospels was compromised and this world, Mammon immediately began the conquest of the Church founded on St Peter that has become more and more successful throughout my lifetime.

I have had to face up to my personal sinfulness ever since childhood and know that even today which I begin in sincere prayer and contemplation that it is so easy for me to sin even though I know that I can always access the support of Jesus, "I will be with you always even to the end of time".

I have to tell myself, however,  that even though I cannot completely understand all that I read about God and that my own thoughts are dismissed as "simplistic" God is also simple in his Love and Commandments for us. He tells us how to live because he knows that we are capable of becoming holy for that Love he poured forth as human blood on Calvary has the Power to enable us all to be secure in his New Holy Family where there is only Love in which we can join with all the Apostles and Saints to proclaim "Blessed be God for ever!"

"Woman behold your son, Son behold your Mother"

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee,

Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus

Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Monday Week 30 Ordinary Time

If we try to live as Christians we all have to become a little bit of a theologian and even when we accept "sola scriptura" as the arbiter which defines the belief on which we base our lives we cannot avoid using our minds, our intellects, to clarify for ourselves what IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT has finally revealed about himself, his Love and Will and our place in his creation.

St John is known as "The Theologian". As a child I was always captivated by the words/Word of what was then the "last Gospel" at the end of Mass and in this I am not alone for it can be considered to be the intellectual foundation on which most of "Theology" and Scripture is an expansion thereof.

Even way before John's final writings, however, Peter, James, John and Jude had written to different congregations on "Theological" topics, commentaries and expositions of the "Good News" that they had witnessed in "Real Time" and Paul had become the Rabbi who first taught how the Incarnation/Resurrection is God's concluding guidance begun with Moses on how to prepare for the "Last Days/The Second Coming".

Some of the words used by St Paul in this mornings first reading can be paired to open up a mental route through the heights and depths of all that can possibly be known by us about IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT: Flesh/spirit; Abba/Christ; children/heirs; suffer/glorified.

In the Gospel, Jesus, the carpenter from round the corner, known as the son of Joseph and Mary, again blasts the learned and the clever and all hypocrisy both of "those times" and of now. Luke also records that he had  heard from the Apostles that the ordinary worshippers who witnessed his words of authority were at that time overjoyed by the power he then displayed.

Our hindsight, however, lets us know that it would not be long before the "rejoicing at all the glorious things that were done by him" would turn into the "Crucify him, crucify him!" of his final day on Earth.

Dear Lord, help me to overcome everything within me that becomes impressed by my own thoughts and being. Self-love always breeds hypocrisy and ultimate hatred of You. I am repeating nothing that you do not already know but hope that for some of today's time I can live, honestly and faithfully accept the Love and Grace you bequeathed to the whole world in those final words to Mary and John.

Sunday Week 30 in Ordinary Time

During the centuries when only the Jews received direct guidance from IAMIAM through the inspiration received via the prophets it seems that they were overwhelmed and dominated by the physical observances attributed to revelations received by Moses.

Their religion was not entirely of this world, however, in that "The Lord" was unseen except in the "good deeds of his chosen people" and in the prophetic utterances that were continually being repeated to correct infractions but to no lasting effect.

During the half millenium before the birth of Christ their Jewishness became under threat from the other great worldly "religio cultural" system of that time, Hellenism. The gods being non-existent had no attraction for the people of IAMIAM but the human culture that their adherents developed was and still, with Christian elements accrued over the last two thousand years and now known as Westernisation, is so attractive that very few people of this world have completely resisted it.

Last week the King of England met the Pope in the Sistine Chapel. The artistic wonder of the setting could be taken as a visual proof of the triumph of Hellenistic Humanism in our life on earth. It is also true that both Pope and King are developments  of the historical failure to believe the literal meaning of Jesus' declaration before Pilate "My kingdom is not of this world".

The Incarnation reveals  that human life itself, being alive in the present moment, is the greatest good that we have had given to us. God also becomes true man but lives always aware of the horror he is to undergo. How is it that we have refused the basic teaching of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT voiced by such a saviour, for so many centuries peopled by so many generations?

Life is nothing more than an opportunity for each individual to become righteous as finalised by Jesus for he has shown us by Way, Truth and Life that even though we lather Gold over everything and proclaim our names to the whole world, all material being is futile and finite, dust that will itself become nothing. 

He, however, is the Resurrection and having confidence in him is not "boasting" but the result of pure faith that brings us to salvation. He never lies and is both our Good Shepherd, the gate to the heavenly sheepfold and the founder of perfect safety in this life, our Mystical Church of Love, the New Holy Family. Amen
