Those who have felt that God has called them to be shepherds of his people have been called to display in all their doings the integrity of the Trinity. There is only one Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Holy Orders of Sacramental Life are still with us and are a huge responsibility for mere men to carry. The Church that I have met, or been met with, as I grew in life has never ceased to change as many generations of us have been born and the role of "The Good Shepherd" has been continued in an ever-changing world.

In the second reading, St. Paul, is writing to the Church in Ephesus. He is still totally aware of "them and us". "Us" are Jews and "you" are Gentiles. He himself has become God's "New Man". We are all to be united as the same "New Man". This is the meaning of the Cross. One God and one people. Vertically God to man and man to God, horizontally man to man .

In the Gospel, the missionaries have returned to Jesus. There is much "to-ing and fro-ing", lots of "busyness", lots of human nature. John the Baptist has been beheaded and Jesus knows that there is need of time for reflection as too much is happening all at once.

So they get into the boat only to be preempted  by the crowd and thus is completed the preparation for one of the "feeding miracles" that precede the "Last Supper",  the source of the first ordination of New  Shepherds, all Jews, for the New Humanity, in the Kingdom which is not of this world.

Dear Lord, You know that I am struggling this morning to find the words that will make me feel to be truly satisfied that I am truly aligned with your will for me. I do listen to my own words and question whether they are truthful. I have to place all my trust in you and the saints who have faithfully served in this world. Let me be helped by joining my prayers with those of Mary and all the saints and let me live in the hope that my words do have a meaning that you will reveal to me. I do really want to know love and serve in this world for that is when I am happy in this world, the only world I know. Help me to the grace of holiness that you poured out on all this world at Calvary. You know that I am weak and sinful and helpless without your aid. Let the prayers of all of us bring  grace to the clergy that they may remain true to the calling by which they were first inspired.

In today's first reading Micah denounces the sins that flourished during his time on Earth that he lived without ever losing touch with the Law, the symbol of the Covenant, the fence that separated the Chosen People from the "Nations".

IAMIAM is patient with his so off-the-mark "image and likeness". "Who can know the mind of God?". He has always known that we are so much like him that we challenge his right to determine how we should live out our life-times. He has made freedom a part of our being. It is stupid of him to expect us not to use it as we think fit. Such are the thoughts of those who choose to oppose God.

The Psalmist knows that all sin in Micah's day " Woe to those who plot evil who lie in bed plotting mischief", is a result of deliberate defiance of God's Law and similarly in his own day sin has taken over the Chosen People to the extent that the "Wicked man boasts of his heart's desires, the covetous blasphemes and spurns the Lord. In his pride, the wicked says, "He will not punish, there is no God." Such are his thoughts".

The all powerful IAMIAM, reveals his will for his creation in the Old Testament.  Mankind's failure to curtail its own freedom of will, however, is not met with  devastation but with the Incarnate Word and all that the future generations (us) need to lead holy lives is revealed and completed in the New Testament.

A holy life is fulfilled by acknowledging our sinfulness and after that by continuing to be guided by the the Holy Spirit who is the Life of the Spiritual Body of Christ which can be found any where that two or three people are gathered in his name, even in the institutional worldly church that has never understood that Father, Son and Holy Spirit really did mean, "My Kingdom is not of this world".

Dear Lord, I know that the learned can refute the thoughts that come to me as I begin each day. I am still aware of the sins that have marred my life. My penitence can never match the grievous harm that I have done to my own soul by sin. I do not need to be able to understand your ways but attempting to know them is a way of worshipping you that is never concluded. The history of your Worldly Institution is not a happy one and many of its deeds can be seen for what they really are, mortal sins. Help me to live without sacraments in this world but always be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit who can breach the shield of self-love if only I truly open from my side the wall built by sin and deep rooted delight in my material body and cleverness of mind.  I make these prayers in my mind but with an unvoicable striving to be true to your teaching and with you Now! Maranatha . Come Lord Jesus! Come !

Those who witnessed the miracles that show to us the Supreme Power that  "I Am Father, Son and Holy Spirit" has over the material universe, his creation, were not all instantly converted to lives of faith-filled holiness. All those who witnessed "Isaiah's Miracle of the Sun" did not begin and continue to live righteous lives after that miraculous moment.

St Peter, who had witnessed the Transfiguration and numerous other miracles, still denied knowing Jesus when confronted during the trial. I have never in my own person ever experienced the power which at first blinded St Paul and then filled him with the Holy Spirit so much so that he has become a standard for us who can read his letters and be guided  2000 years after they were written.

Today I am living with Faith, Hope and Love in my heart.  I am  aware of my own sinfulness. I am also aware that I was never as committed to sinfulness as I am now, thanks be to God, committed to sincerely seeking out God's will for me and pledging my being to follow it. This makes for a much better life even in this world than I have any right to expect for myself.

Many of us who are co-operating with the Holy Spirit see the change from habitual sin to the search for holiness that we experience in our lives as a "miracle", something that is an exceptional occurrence and contradictory to the laws of our nature.

In reality the nature of all creation obeys the laws of matter that are part of that moment the Love of Father, Son and Holy Spirit uttered in the Eternal Being "Let there be Light". Mankind, me,  and the billions of others that we are, are created to know, love and serve. It is sin that is the aberration. An  incredible negative deed, a reverse miracle of human will that denies the Love and Trust of Father, Son and Holy Spirit which is the natural place for us all to accept and to live within.

Dear Lord, you assured the Pharisees that you were the Son, coequal with the Father and with him the Holy Spirit. IamIam's true Being revealed to all mankind. After prayer in the Temple did some Pharisees always join the throng captivated by your charisma and medical miracles from which you ofttimes sought in solitude the perfection of being fully united in prayer with Father and Holy Spirit? Help me to ponder as did Our Lady during her life on Earth the incomprehensible wonders of your being. Let me find truth in Scriptures and in the writings of your saints, never forgetting that if I truly open my heart you will fill it with all that I need to atone for my sins and learn to hate them as the source of the pain you underwent on my behalf. You know that I have lost touch with the Worldly Institution which your foundation has been for the last 1800 or so years . Help me to be part of the "Sabbath" that you also founded, from the agony of the cross, in the New Holy Family of Mary and John. Dear Lord hear my prayers and help me to avoid  occasions of sin which mankind is still choosing to increase as a function of our mastery of matter. Amen.

I always have to wait after reading the mass-readings for this page to appear on my screen. Sometimes I lose touch with what I have read minutes before. God knows that this blog is a record necessary for me to retain my hold on the reality of God's purpose for me and of the contrition that is not just the acknowledgment of my sins.

My aim is to seek God's Truth in what I read and respond in my truth to the inspired words, the Scriptures, that begin about 3,000 years ago and contain all that we need to know to complete our lives in righteous integrity, the holiness that is God's will for us all to enjoy.

We should all be happy even in the most miserable of circumstances. We who have welcomed the completed word of the Lord and recognise in awe-struck gratitude that Jesus in his "time" writhed in the agony that is the only possible, atonement great enough to eradicate the "evil" we inherit from Adam/Eve and is the root cause of all the wickedness created by mankind throughout the ages.

I know that  AdamEve, Mary, Jesus are the only human beings who have begun their lives on earth without sin. AdamEve disobeyed. They did not do this through ignorance for God had warned them.

In today's Gospel Jesus tells us that to follow him even to the cross is easy, not at all a heavy load. Most of my life I have not opened my heart and not even tried to respond to "my yoke is easy, my burden light". Convinced of the  impossibility, I have not  accepted these words as an eternal truth spoken as was the "do not eat of the tree of knowledge".

God is really lovely and great and in his eternal totality he offers his world for us to see the good with which he surveyed the whole of his creation. He promises to help us and has sealed that promise with the perfect sacrifice on Calvary.

That is why Jesus can say, "Come to me all you who labour and are burdened and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke, and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden is light".

Yesterday we heard Jesus uttering a grave warning to the towns of Galilee. They had not completely accepted the revelations he had made to them even though they had also witnessed the miraculous healing of the sick and heard him preach.

In the first reading, Isaiah attributes the success of their enemies as a punishment wreaked on Judah because of its backsliding from its part in the covenant. God deals with Israel and the other nations as if those nations in the Old Testament were each a communal person and selects only a few individuals to become the prophets through whom he explains his purpose.

That has also been to this day the attitude of the American Evangelical Christians towards the resettlement of Palestine by the Jews who had survived the holocaust perpetrated by the failed Christian Culture of Europe. They have taken on the position of Old Testament prophets and regard the slaughter and theft of  Palestinian lands as God's support for his chosen people.

Not only I, but every individual born into the world has no responsibility for the historical events that have resulted in the reality we find ourselves to be part of at the moment of our birth.

Neither has God, for he has created us to be free to choose how we live out our lives and what to do with the creation into which we are born. There is nothing that we have done to modify creation that is directly attributable to God.

We are indeed wondrous beings but far less than the mere children, in comparison to Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that Jesus praises the Father for making recipients of his revelation.

There can be no doubt that the Jews are special in this world for it is from their physical race, now known to be DNA, that Father, Son and Holy Spirit chose to be begotten as true man. They are also "learned and clever" and it is this "cleverness" that has lead to the Atheism of Zionists who have slaughtered thousands to fulfill their self perceived destiny.

God has created us to become aware of the wonderous eternity into which we have been created to bow before him in perfect worship and live accordingly in this world by knowing, loving and serving.

This is the Theology of the "mere children" schooled by the penny catechism and has, by the learned and clever, been expanded into millions of books but none of them greater in significance than the two words "Our Father" with which Jesus taught us to begin our prayer.

Dear Lord, help me to become by accepting your grace, one of your children who can pray to you in sincerity having learned what love is in the arms of our mothers. You too accepted with joy the human love with which you were welcomed into the lives of Mary and Joseph. It is impossible for any human being except yourself to truly "know" the love that you are and the joy that even my penitence can bring into your kingdom. May Mary and all the saints join in all the prayer that we sinners on earth proclaim as we raise our minds and hearts to You our Almighty Father who is the timelessness of Heaven. May my sins and those of all near to me be forgiven and may we all find peace to live calmly unto the end of our worldly lives. Amen.

 16/07/2024

I have often faced the thought of dying with great fear as I have known, even as a child that sin was as a seemingly inescapably a part of my being as my head is a part of my body.

The Old Testament treats sin and its punishments as part of human life on Earth the and "after-life" as a continuum from "Abraham's bosom" to the torments of Dives, the rich man, which were made much worse for him by an awareness of the delights being experienced by Lazarus, the poor man whose earthly needs he had ignored.

Jesus has left us with no doubts that individual human freedom can choose for itself  everlasting joy.

Many have speculated about this but no matter how great our intelligence no one can truly know the Father, Son and Holy Spirit until he brings us into his presence and we are all judged on how well we have used, not our human talents in this world, but the Mercy that is the sign of the cross.

Jesus also left us with no doubts that our individual human freedom can also choose to ignore the Mercy that is the purpose of his Incarnation.

This too has caused much speculation but no matter how great our intelligence and knowledge we cannot think our way out of the hard truth that Jesus, the supreme being, had to undergo unimaginable suffering to bring this Mercy to all mankind.

The most wonderful part of being alive is to know, love and serve and that the crumpled, helpless and desiccated old thing that some of us become can  pass through the gateway of death to live a new life face to face and filled with the Love that is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus has made it quite clear that we are free to choose or refuse Mercy. He has also made it quite clear that by refusal we choose to challenge Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is Jesus who unequivocally reveals that Hell really does exist and teaches us on the Cross what Our Father has done to help us save ourselves from its clutches.

Hell is not only truly Horrific it is also unending  and it is to bring us security from this foul result of our making wrong choices, it is we who choose to sin, that Jesus bled out on the cross to become a lifeless disfigured, naked, humiliated, corpse. A corpse accepted into the arms of the mother who had fulfilled her mission and was heart broken in her sorrow.

Dear Lord, I try to pray by praise, by petition and by penance. You have absolutely no need of praise but I do need to be aware "How great thou art". You resist no legitimate request for help in this world but always know what is best for the petitioner. I hope that I face up to whatever penance is needed to erase the guilt of my sins. May Mary, Your Mother and ours lead all the Saints in the heavenly chorus in a petition that will shake all sinners out of the clutches of this world so that  we accept your Mercy to find forgiveness from sin and so be able finally to join the Holy Souls in the perfect penance of Purgatory.

 15/07/2024

God has never left us alone to oversee his creation. He has always guided humans who have come to realise that the meaning in their lives is not the result of the achievements of mankind.

In the Old Testament, Job is mankind accepting that we all live in the providence that is not decided by God but arises out of the interrelatedness of decisions for good or evil made by each one of us.

Isaiah is inspired by God to give warning to us all that what is required from us is to know, love and serve him and no matter how brilliant the achievements of ourselves or our forefathers we are all individuals who must make a personal response to "Our Father".

Jesus speaks to us "man to man". He does this always but sometimes he hits us hard with  pure truth. Today we hear one of these "hard sayings" which we struggle to understand.

The sword, family discord and universal strife is hardly the stuff of the blessings received on the mount earlier in Matthew's Gospel.

The Church founded on St Peter has always been guided by some great individuals whose relationship with God has been so brilliant that all have recognised their holiness. Today we celebrate the holiness of St Bonaventura who revealed to mankind his devotion to the Lord in his teaching and writings.

When I read of the holy lives of saints I always try to find out the state of the Institutional Church during their lifetimes. St Bonaventura as did St Thomas Aquinas and Roger Bacon served in an "unholy church of this world" ruled by Popes who were devoted to politics and Mammon.

In my lifetime millions of souls have been lost by the Church, a worldly institution that is the not nearly perfect product of not  practising what was declared by its founder in open court to the representative of Mammon . "My kingdom is not of this world".

We all admire, or are envious of, those intellects which are greater than our own. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, however, has no need of "Theology", our God is "All-Knowing". The Good Shepherd, however, seeks out all sinners that he might save us all from our sin and reminds us that no matter our place in the hierarchy of this world  we have to return to him as naked, helpless infants to be judged by the deeds of our lives.

Dear Lord, help me this day to live without sin. Let my being be open to the words of Scripture and the promptings of your Holy Spirit, one God with Father, and Son. Help me to never forget that you know me for what I am even in the vastness of your creation. Jesus and Mary are present with you in the glorified bodily humanity that you have prepared for us all, Help your creation avoid any further sinfulness by becoming open to the Holy Spirit and may your "second coming" bring us all into the "glorious freedom" prophesised by St Paul. Open all hearts to receive the pardon shared by all sinners here and in Purgatory. May that "final coming" be soon. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus Come!
