Thursday Week 11 Ordinary Time

Most of the first Christians whose deeds and prayer-filled contemplation of the Life of Jesus were Jews and as such they were familiar with the Old Testament and the Spiritual Energy of the Prophets.

God knows that I cannot respond to today's first reading from Sirach with  anything like a coherent interpretation. "Wow" plus innumerable exclamation marks is my reaction. Do I have to understand it? 

"Come to me, all you that labour, and are burdened, and I will refresh you" is Jesus own answer to this question. It is fundamental to accepting the completed revelation that he was during his lifetime. 

Eternal Son emptied himself to become as mortal as we are to show how each one of us can live without sin in this world by knowing that we are beings created by "Our Father", saved by "Son", and empowered by "Holy Spirit".

We are the spiritual heirs of the the Prophets and "Anonymous Hebrews" of the Old Testament Testament. We are not dependant on human testament as to our lineage. Jesus is not a hard master but he is just. He has revealed everything. 

Jesus is the Living Word and there can be nothing insignificant within his teaching. "Do not babble as the Gentiles do" seems to imply that not only he but also his Jewish listeners were familiar with pagan religious practises.

As for me, I am an open book to Our Lord and he knows how sometimes I am not even able to complete the Lord's Prayer the heart of today's Gospel reading and the spiritual structure around which we can elevate our hearts and minds to IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT in the certainty that our prayers are answered by the just and loving mercy that Jesus poured out to conclude the Old Testament and open way, truth and life in the Church built on Peter and in his New Holy Family.

"Woman behold your son. Son behold your mother."

When I approach what will become my response to the readings that have been chosen as appropriate for the day's Liturgy, I often ask myself what it is that I think that I am doing.

I seem to be opening my "secret room" in which I am ready to accept and respond to all that Our Father has revealed to mankind from the beginning in the Garden.

I am truly in charge of this effort that I make each morning. I have read the Mass Readings because I want to and begun to assess myself because of Jesus' warning about self-glorification in this morning's Gospel. 

I do often check the words that I have accumulated in "Blogger" and am amazed how many there are. I also check how many views have been made and do know that this is not really important because it is only IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT who is the targeted recipient of what I record and He already knows everything about me.

He knows that today I am very much "of this world". Full-share of housework, medicine rationing, watering fragile plants, football, and "interesting times" are pressing for my attention but I am also " raising my heart and mind" and bringing "Our Father" to the fore of my consciousness, in order to  "render unto God the things that are God's" because recollection of  Father's Creative Love, Son's Saving Love, and Holy Spirit's abiding Spiritual Maintenance of  Love in Church and New Holy Family, is the very best use of the time still available to me. 

"Your sister Mary has chosen the better part."

IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is totally free, unconfined by any of the conditions which limit the material of his creation. For him there is no yesterday or tomorrow. There is no Old or New but only Now.

For us, however, time is the constantly changing medium in which we are present moment by moment, day by day, millennia by millennia. 

When we read the Old Testament we take ourselves back in time to the revelation that is "The Law of Moses" which was given by IAMIAM who was known as the Creator, and Supporter by his Chosen People, the descendants of Abraham. In those days, He was the one true God known only by the people to whom He had chosen to reveal Himself. We, the people of the New Testament, are the heirs to the testimony sealed by the Final Sacrifice.

The Jews of the Old Testament knew that there was the Law, Ten Commandments by following which they could become acceptable to God. They also knew that they were often sinners and that sin would bring disaster as it had done to Ahab and Jezebel. Abraham had pleaded for Sodom and Gomorrah and obtained a degree of mercy. David sang with joyful praise in celebration of the Loving Mercy that he had personally experienced. 

It seems to me as I contemplate the record of God's dealings with the Jews that the core of all his revelations is that the freedom which he has created for all humanity is to enable us to become His agents and partners and for us to know that  he is LOVE.

Our purpose is to do His will not by using His gifts to manipulate material or promote our beings into parodies of His Divinity. Towers of Babel are insignificant in the shadow of the lowest of Mountain Ranges. The beauty of all human Art is surpassed by the magnificence of the sky at night or the atoms of the marble out of which the Pieta has been carved.

It is very, very easy to become engrossed by the novelty and variety of material being but we have been created  to become much, much great than anything of this world. For thirty-three years the Supreme Being, the Creator of all that exists shared as True Man the corruptible animal flesh of mankind to enable us to be guided to the perfection that still eludes us. 

‘You must be perfect as your heavenly Father is.’

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples: ‘You have heard that it was said, “You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.” But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.’

The Old Testament reading for today begins a story that illustrates the depths of evil to which we will go when we disregard during our lives in this world the commandments that Moses received from God on Mt Sinai.

In the New Testament reading for today Jesus sets out the heights of virtue for which we should aim to attain in this world if we are to do "Thy will on Earth as it is in Heaven".

The Psalmist praises the justice of the Lord. He knows that for his prayer to be answered he has to avoid sin in this world.

You are no God who delights in evil;

no sinner is your guest.

The boastful shall not stand before your eyes. 

I am not the only one to believe that the historic events of the last two thousand years have never shown us what this world would have become if we had truly lived according to the will of God as revealed by Our Incarnate God himself. 

Jesus not only demonstrated but also taught us by his words that we have to live not by the flesh but by the spirit and on Calvary completed the testimony that had begun millennia previously, with  the unquestioning faith of Abraham. 

We are all living in this world to prepare our never ending being to become an offering acceptable to IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. 

God tells us that we can only do this for ourselves. Only each "I" can "turn the other cheek" and only each "I" can confess and seek atonement for their sins. The limitless vastness of the Goodness, Truth, Beauty and Unity that is our Eternal Father, proclaims himself to be IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT and deliberately limits himself into the being of True Man, his Incarnate self, so that each one of us can recognise himself and accept the wonder that is Sacramental Grace in the Church and True Homely Love in the New Holy Family.

Every human being is known to God and from the agony of the cross, the Crucified Christ calls each one of us  by name to tell us that we are forgiven whenever we raise our heart and mind to him.

Eleventh Sunday Ordinary Time

Yet again, I have to face the fact that the Old Testament is the history of God's relationship with the Jews. They are his Chosen People. God did not make a Covenant with any other "people".

God knows that it is hard for me and the millions of other "Gentiles" who have ever been created to understand why our ancestors were excluded by Our Creator. 

I know that as a sinner, I have often excluded myself from the LOVE that created me, but I am deeply saddened by the totally undeserved exclusion during the time covered by the Old Testament of so many souls from the revelation that today, provides me with the opportunity to make informed and guided choices about the basic facts of self-awareness and life in this world.

In today's Gospel, the Incarnation, Jesus of Nazareth who is inaugurating the reset of the old order of Salvation, emphasises that his first purpose is to reform his "Chosen Ones". Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Dear Lord, You know how I have come to accept that my sole purpose in life is to aim for "holiness because you are holy". You also know that I am aware of my constant failures and restarts. You know that even in my worst moments I have never forgotten Your merciful LOVE for me and all mankind. Help me to accept that I am not able to understand that you are incapable of doing anything that is harmful and that you even forgave the "ignorance" that  nailed you to the cross . Guide me into the confidence that welcomes anything You choose  to reveal to us. Let my heart and mind become untroubled as I thank you for my place in your Spiritual Church of Love, your New Holy Family.

Alleluia, alleluia! The Lord has sent me to bring the good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives. Alleluia!

Today's Gospel Acclamation is from Isaiah's declaration of a Jubilee Year, Jesus'  first public reading of scripture. At the 50 year Jubilee in pre-Babylon-exile Israel there was supposed to be a complete social, economic and spiritual reset of the ethos of the Chosen People. It had been a New Beginning when debts had been canceled, land returned to its original owners and slaves set free.

The Incarnation is the Revelation of the Complete Reset by IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT made in Created Real-Time by which we have been enabled to follow the Way, Truth and Life in this world in order to become in our own beings the True Man that our Father intended us to be.

At the very beginning of his public life, Jesus deliberately placed himself within the Salvation History of the Old Testament and thus immediately  came into conflict with the people of his hometown who refused the WORD because they were familiar with Jesus the woodworker. He completed his mission in thirty-three years, one human generation,  and Mary's words to her cousin Elizabeth "From now on all generations will call me blessed" can now also be applied to him.

 Approximately 100 generations have passed since that time but, in these days many, far too many, of us would refuse "the  peace" of the disciple and have  no idea of the life-saving mission  contained in the message, "The kingdom of God has come near to you".

Each Day I try to remember "For God there is nothing impossible" and that he responds whenever we  join with each other in prayer. I know that my prayers can be linked with the those of Mary and all the saints in the Mystical Body of Christ, true God and true man and I pray that I can raise my heart and mind to the promises of Christ. He will be with us to the end of our time, and he does know that I may misunderstand the scriptures but that I really do seek to follow HIM through their True History of mankind's search for HIM and for the grace to do His will on Earth so that we can say as members of the New Holy Family,  Look Lord we do believe with thanks that You have visited the Earth and revealed your Salvation, Maranatha, come soon Lord Jesus for I know that there is still some Faith on Earth. Amen

Little children respond to everything that they encounter without prejudice. We are all empty tablets when we are born. "Empty" except for the stain of "Original Sin" from which only Jesus and his human mother have been exempt.

Most of us have learnt from our mother's smile and the milk that once taken calms our bodies and enables us to be not afraid to breathe in the life-giving oxygen we previously obtained directly from the our mothers' bloodstreams. It doesn't take long, however, for us to begin the demands that, if not curbed by righteous parenting, leave us to  become the "King baby", the totally selfish human beings who have always dominated this world.

 Every one, however, of my thoughts, that issue before my eyes on this screen, are not those of a little child. They are not my own creations but are the result of responding multiple times to the experiences and self-awareness that I have encountered during my lifetime.

God knows that I have always struggled with the reality of "Chosen People" and from the depths of my being cry out "Why, them God? Why not me?"

That is why I can welcome the Good News on this Feast of the Sacred Heart with joy because I do know that I am a free being who can  welcomes the LOVE that with outstretched arms allowed ETERNAL LIFE to be pumped out, until pierced and stilled by the soldier's lance, on Calvary in the Final Sacrifice that sealed the completed Real-Time Events that proclaim to all mankind 

"You are my son, today I have begotten you".

Calvary is for all mankind and calls for all of us to disregard the things of this world and choose to make our own "hearts and  minds"  fitting to receive the LOVE that is IAMFTHERSONHOLYSPIRIT so that we can find our place within the Mystical Body, the Church, the New Holy Family founded as the Sacred Heart bled out on Calvary.

Even though I am convinced that the reality within which we are living today does not reflect the purpose of the LOVE with which Our Father created this Universe and am aware that the Petrine Church has not yet won the struggle against "the things of this world", I also know that not only in the Scriptures themselves, but also in their Liturgical use by the Church we can find the WORD who leads us to  IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT, the source and goal of all creation. 

In today's Gospel we read that "In those days", as Jesus taught and formed his new priesthood that was to "go out and teach all Nations" and liturgically repeat the Eternal Sacrifice only he knew that he would make, he did not condemn outright the Law and the Temple religion of his day. 

He held nothing back in defense of TRUTH and today tells us unequivocally that even the mildest resentment of another's being is at the foot of the gradient that summits in murder. 

"Thou shalt not kill"

As I write this there are fellow humans pressing buttons to ensure the destruction of the lives and possessions of other humans whom they have never seen. Others are being beaten and abused by family members. I myself cannot deny that I have been overcome by blind rage more times than I can remember. Travellers are being beset by thieves and poisoners are doing their evil secretly. Opponents are being vilified and falsely accused.

There is absolutely nothing that comes from God in any of the above behaviours/events. Jews, Christians and Moslems have over the centuries always been able to justify their personal violence and the three Faiths developed from God's original revelations/commandments  are still involved in mass slaughter in the region that 2000 years ago was home to the Incarnation.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The message of  Jesus our Lord is totally radical because he is WORD, the root of all being and it is always TRUTH without embellishment or modification. God says 

"Turn the other cheek". 

I wonder why we have always been able to talk our way around that absolute new commandment and have thus never lived in accordance with the Law of Moses or the completion and reset made in Palestine 2000 years ago even when he has created a new spiritual food, The Eucharist and Place of safety for our souls, The Church of Love, the New Holy Family.

I did not read the first Reading for today with any great attention as "Do not put the Lord thy God to the test came into my head" and I wandered off into Mohammad who has led so many millions of us away from the Way Truth Life that is the Resurrection and although welcomed by many as such proved himself not to be the Holy Spirit as he certainly centered his teaching not only in this world but he himself became a political leader. 

That the revelation of his Being to individuals should result in the hatred that is exploited to justify the completely unholy way of life that is the warfare that began in Southern Arabia 1400 years ago and has never ceased is certainly not by the "Will of God".

Three Religions claim a share of the Abrahamic Blessing/Revelations. 

The Incarnation told us that in Christ everything was completed, "It is finished", for Our Father, himself, completed in Real-Time the sacrifice that he had prevented Abraham from making, also in real-time", and thus the Church founded on Peter is the custodian of the Real Presence in the Sacramental way of being.

We cannot explain in human words the event that began with the Annunciation. We can however pray for the guidance to recognise the immeasurable Love/Mercy/Forgiveness/Humility it is as the final direct intervention in creation of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

And yet within half a century of the Resurrection the spiritual descendants of the Apostolic Church had  become as lost within their own intellectual pride as had their Pharisaical forebearers and this pride soon resulted in armed conflict.

In their own minds to be Jewish was for the Jews of the Temple the "be all and end all". Their descendants are much the same and mostly centered on the things of this world. 

Moslems have elevated Arab social customs into a New Law, perpetuated some Rabbinical anti Christian falsehoods into articles of Faith and deny that it is human freedom that creates what is done by man in this world.

As for we "Christians" we have never attained "Christendom" although we have expended much blood and needless death in trying. The TRUTH is everything that "comes from the mouth of God". The sentence "My kingdom is not of this world" is always true "yesterday, today and for ever" but we have never truly listened to this declaration made by Jesus at his trial before Pilate.

Nevertheless, I believe that many Jews, Moslems and Christians have been accepted at their deaths as "Beloved of my Father" for Jesus came into the world, not to condemn the world but to save it and since "those days"  the whole world has been the recipient of that Love poured out on Calvary and it is only God who knows the secret places of our hearts.

Even the invitation he made in his dying breath for us to accept a place in the New Holy Family is as inclusive as his command "to go out and teach the whole world".

Today Elijah receives more directions from the Lord. His "brook" that was his safeguard from the "Wrath" that had created the famine had dried up but he was told to move onto Zarephath where he would be fed by a widow from a never ending quantity of flour and oil.

The Old Testament is the witness of those who did the will of God by following his Law and obeying the commandments that are made to individual "Prophets". 

This revealed Economy of Salvation required continuous readjustments from the days of Adam onward until in "these latter days" the Resurrection becomes the final complete reset after which there is nothing for Our Father to add to the thus completed WORD, Way, Truth and Life, by his Personally Experienced human Life Death and Resurrection.

The Light of His  Life burns within me. God knows the truth that I should really say is that it smoulders and sometimes overcomes my reluctance to make categorical declarations of Faith out of the fear that comes from the self-knowledge that I would most likely fail in my deeds and make myself look stupid.

Dear Lord, Help me to overcome the reluctance to burn through the "bushel" that begins and ends in SELF, self-conceit, self-conditioning, self-contempt and self-condemnation. Help me to achieve the confidence in You that enabled your first disciples to proclaim your Good News of Life Everlasting in the Love that is the being of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. Amen

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

The world which we all inhabit exists because the Love that is the Supreme Being, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is a sharing of Joy and a Delight in freely Knowing and being Known.

Elijah the Tishbite had a direct insight into the Perfection that he worshipped and also into the potential for similar perfection within himself and all other people. He obeyed " Our Father" who spoke to him out of his own heart and in the middle of a famine he found water and was "fed by ravens".

We are all born with that same potential, for "image and likeness" breaking through the walls of our self-containment. We are all capable of shattering our carapace of human conditioning and recognising that nothing that is temporal has any value in the "Eternal Kingdom" which is our goal and holy purpose for being alive at any moment of our lives.

The freedom that we all know that we have is not the Power of Almighty God but it is capable of the wonders that generation, by generation block our spiritual vision even to the extent of not only disobedience but also of feeding on the evil with which we fill our beings and telling our Maker that we don't believe and therefore He does not exist.

All human life in this world is ordered by time. Totally free, IAMFATHERSONHOLY SPIRIT reset His relationship with creation by being born into his created "real-time"  and became "True Man, Jesus". For 33 human years God chose to live exactly as does all mankind. 

"God so Loved the World" is no empty platitude but the impossibility for human words or thought to capture the overwhelming intensity of this fact that silences us into wordless worship, our voiceless souls, conscious yet voiceless within the  All Consuming, "Fire of thy Love".

Two thousand years ago, God, at that moment, shared our corporal awareness of ambient, time and place,  as he looked at the disciples he felt the warmth of the sun and gentleness of the breeze, but knew each one who has ever lived, and explained  how we need to understand that the only value in the real-time events and deeds of our lives are as the opportunity  they provide for us  to conform our will to the holiness of His Revelations and thus become the "Blessed of My Father".

‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.’

Corpus Christi

This day 80 years ago I made my first Holy Communion. It was a day of great importance to my mother in particular and I remember it not as the beginning of my awareness of the "Real Presence" but as one of the first of the occasions that I brought humiliation to my mother and myself.

At the traditional breakfast that followed the Mass, I was tricked by the boy sitting next to me who on finishing his boiled egg, reversed it in  his egg-cup and told me that he had got a second one and so "Oliver Twist" asked for another one too.

In his gospel St John always refers to the high and the mighty, the learned and the clever as "The Jews" because that is what they were. The leaders of Temple Religion were rich and powerful, studious and intelligent, descendants of Abraham and heirs of the Covenants that had revealed them to be the "Chosen People" as recorded in the Pentateuch.

The Real TRUTH, revealed by the Incarnate WORD, however is that although they had somehow taken a wrong turn they were to become the enactors of the final Sacrifice and thus enable the "Incarnate Real Presence" to reset how we are to attain Salvation by creating and becoming the new way of being within time that is Sacramental  Real Presence and for this they were not to be considered guilt burdened.

IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT forgives The Jews. "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". The Gospel, the Good News that the Incarnation proclaims in his life, death and Resurrection is that we are all forgiven. 

Yet, the Crucifixion seems to be a great crime against Our Father. It happened in real-time, however, because it was the will of the Father that within his creation mankind is free to choose to respond to the LOVE which is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT and that He accepts our choice and our will as if it were as real as his own. It is the great mystery of our salvation that it is therefore, only as "True Man" that the All Powerful limits himself to  create True Forgiveness.

God knows that I have been beset by personal weakness and sin throughout my life but that in these last forty years I have sometimes been able to access the grace for which Our Saviour died to create. I actually do believe that at the Last Supper he did create an order of Priests to become ministers in the Church founded on St Peter. 

Jesus forgave the "established Church" that was the Temple and led his people onto the new way that condemns no-one but leads us all to the foot of the Cross where in his dying moments he tells us that there is also a Church of Love, a New Holy Family in which all the peoples of the World can find forgiveness for sin and the peace in which to prepare for the end of our being in this world. We are all as guilty as each other but each one of us is also loved and fed to the same degree. In a family there are no favourites.

I really do thank God at grace given moments when I am not thinking or commenting about myself but I am aware. I never completely forget myself, however, for I do know that I have often ignored the blessing that is awareness of being always in the presence of God. 

Always getting closer to my "end days", I can join with St Paul and Psalmist knowing that our sincere raising of mind and heart to Our Father can become the offering of total self that is the "widow's mite" and also Jesus, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT, retaining nothing of himself, giving out his all on Calvary for us to be able to choose to "do Thy will on Earth as it is in heaven". 

I am trying to say that the Psalm reveals the meaning of "Before Abraham was I AM" and that I needn't struggle to explain myself to Our Father. There has never been a sensible reason for "this world" to have lost touch with WORD revealed in scripture.

St Paul knew how generations of humans would grow less and less "Poor in Spirit" and that billions and billions of opinions would confuse the facts of Salvation that had been reveled to those souls who had been joined in their lifetimes by Incarnate God in the same temporal existence.

"For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry."

The biggest "myth" of all to flourish in this the "This World" that Jesus denied before Pilate is that perpetrated by human intelligence, in denying "the facts of Salvation" and, becoming  fixated on empirical facts of material being, thus promoting the understanding of  "this worldly" temporal works of God into becoming a substitute for the Eternal Glory of  IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT himself.

What was true for the Psalmist, enlightened/reconfigured by Jesus and confirmed by St Paul is the only TRUTH that we encounter throughout our lives that has any lasting value for it is WORD that reveals IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT as Creator who guides us into the ways of ETERNAL LOVE which we can only understand when our deaths confirm that Jesus is the "GATE" and until that moment I pray that "My mouth will tell of your salvation, O Lord" and that I can become a child  in the loving quietude of your New Holy Family with You, Mary John and all the Saints. Amen

Two thousand years ago "the Angel of the Lord appeared unto Mary and she conceived by the Holy Ghost" not to enhance the way that the "Chosen People" had been living according to the Law of Moses and the revelations made through the Prophets but precisely for opposite reasons.

God became man to enable all the peoples of this world to be forgiven for their sins and to learn how to avoid the self-indulgence that is the root of all evil. 

The Apostles who led the first generation of Christians built their preaching on their remembrance of the exact words and deeds of Jesus for whom the Resurrection had produced the final answer to Jesus' "Who do you say that I am?"

Everything that exists within time has a beginning and for the Apostles the Jesus' Church, the foundation of which they were to implement as a Spirit-filled community with St Peter the leader ordained by God himself was still centered on the Temple where they had also worshipped together with Christ.

We cannot imagine the interior turmoil that it was for those circumcised and self-programmed human beings to accept that the God of their Ancestors had become man in order for them to abandon  their unique racial exclusivity and share, from then on truly obeying,  "Love your neighbour as your self", the Love that they had previously claimed only for themselves.

The Incarnation proclaims that IAMIAM now revealed as IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT does not have favourites and that even the greatest sinner on Earth is able, as he always has been, to be forgiven by the simple and personal act of listening and accepting that in  his ego there is forever a deceiver, a father of lies, and that he is in need of the forgiveness created by the perfect sacrifice that completed the total revelation of why our created never-ending awareness of being has only a limited time of awareness of the things of this world. That is why we have to ask and answer what happens after death.

‘The most important is, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” The second is this: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”

Thursday Week 9 Ordinary Time

I know that I am a being created to know, be aware that my Creator has made me to choose to become during my lifetime a listener to the WORD and avoider of anything that contradicts that WORD.

There is absolutely no need for me to be sitting in front of this screen waiting for my reactions to this morning's Mass Readings to appear on it. IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT already knows absolutely everything that passes through my mind.

I was originally drawn to the Jewish "Shema" prayer for the trivial reason that "asma" is the Arabic, English "listen" that began many sentences in Saudi Arabia and it contains the strange convolution of sounds as heard in "pelanty" the Arabic version of football's "penalty".

St Paul is much more focused than I am. He is there at the beginning of the Christian mission that completes God's proclamation to the world that he has now told us everything that we need to know. He has shown us how to live our lives in holiness and repeated the guidance that he has always made through the Prophets.

He has completed the perfection of revelation by becoming "perfect humanity", True Man, and accepted by dying as God a human death, the suffering that is the only way that the Antipathy to BEING that is Sin can be removed from its power base in the souls of we sinners still perpetrating evil in our own real-time.

But two thousand years after this reset we are still dominated by the things of this world. We can fill our time on Earth with marvels that human ingenuity has created and gape with amazement at relics of the past as wealth creates the benefit of more and more leisure. All of that "time-filling" literally prevents us from hearing the first commandment.

The Church built on Peter, has also often forgotten to "shema", "asma" LISTEN and each succeeding generation of scribes, priests, hierarchs, lawyers theologians and individual believer has had to face up to becoming less entangled in the things of this world than had their predecessors.

Our God chose to renew the worshipping face of the Earth by his Incarnation. My mouse, as always, instantly reveals by showing  to me the evils that flourish here on Earth, that seeking to sit at the feet Jesus is indeed the better part and that he also on Calvary made it possible for individual souls to be cared for in the Church of Love by choosing to join his New Holy Family when he spoke to Mary, John and all of us. Amen

I cannot deny the deeds of my own life. I can remember my own faults and failings. The real-time  basic facts and events over which I have had, still have and will continue to have the freedom to choose the outcome will become my total life that is known by Our Father and for which I will receive Divine Justice.

Nobody except Jesus has chosen the time and place of his own birth and life. We are all enhanced animals who have physical bodies and brains which we have been able to understand as the apex of evolutionary development.

The Creator of our Universe has revealed to us that he is Eternal without beginning or end and his unique BEING is three distinct persons each of whom is complete BEING but who know and LOVE in a vastness of joy that reveals itself in the wonders of this Universe and in mankind, we the greatest wonder of all created being.

We are the never ending image and likeness created to depict DIVINE LOVE in corporality within this Material Universe but our freedom and abilities have been proven time and time again too powerful for us to contain and "The Angel of the Lord appeared unto Mary". Now we have the complete revelation of how to "be" and still human pride always stops itself from attaining the true reality revealed by the Incarnation/Resurrection.

In today's Gospel True Man, Jesus, allows the Priestly Class of his Chosen People, the Sadducees who are to play a very important part in the Crucifixion to try the impossible task of beating TRUTH in a debate. There are no Sadducees in this modern world. There are, however, many Jews who have maintained the good qualities of the Pharisees to which Jesus told us to listen. 

All we Christians have to be aware that we have never built "Jerusalem, here in this world " nor can we ever do so for "My kingdom is not of this world".

Just as I can remember my own faults and failings, I also know that the Church founded on St Peter has not performed as she was intended to in this world. Christ did not suffer death to enable a man to wear three crowns in Rome or rule over the whole of West Asia from Constantinople. Similarly I know that Jesus did not revive and complete the Law of Moses for such an unholy state as Israel to shamelessly trample over their own and also God's laws by becoming the very epitome of the worst of the nation by whom they themselves suffered an attempted genocide.

Today I am yet again praying by declaring my own faith by striving to understand why it is that I am so sure that the reality of this moment in this world as revealed by the "click of a mouse" is not what Our Father intended for us to make of ourselves in  Creation.

Thanks to the Grace of God, I know that I do hear the WORD in the scriptures and that I do try to ponder it in my heart. It would be easy to mock the inelegance of my language and banality of thought but this is who I am and thus was created to be alive in this world and supported by the Church of Love, Jesus' New Holy Family to fulfill the Baptismal Promises made on my behalf 85 years ago and personally renewed, by the Grace of God many times since then.

We do not love and cling to Jesus because he was able to defeat the arguments and escape the logical traps of all who attacked him. 

I am trying, once again, to raise my heart and mind to and with "Our Father" in order to get through "the toil and pain" of the additional sixth year that has been added to my span.

I always read again what I have left written and have no illusions that "the letters" could attract any followers but I do know that I am always trying honestly to express in words the longing to do what is right today and for the remainder of my life for I know that I want to sit at the feet of Jesus as did Mary of Bethany in the calm and peace that is the "WORD of Eternal Life".

When faced with Jesus' declaration of his equality with the Father, that drove away many of the disciples, Peter asked "Where should we go Lord? You have the words of Eternal Life". In his letter to the first post-Resurrection generation of the Church he tells us that we are are still to place all our trust in Jesus who is himself WORD and whose words and deeds show us how to use our life in this world to prepare us for a never-ending share of the True Life it is to know and be known by the Eternal Glory of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Before I even opened the Mass Readings for today, I clicked into the "kingdom that is this world" and quickly became engrossed in the events and opinions that are fully occupying the minds of the "Caesars", their minions, commentators and those of us whose "daily lives" in this world are controlled by politicians.

I was quite shocked therefore when the Gospel for today presented me with the perfect complement to the "My kingdom is not of this world" which is never far from my mind especially when I am unable to detach myself from the affairs of "Caesar" which I am sure have corrupted more souls than mine.

I could "marvel" at this coincidence as did the Pharisees in today's Gospel at the wit and wisdom of Jesus. As always, however, with Jesus there is something more than marvellous here, the total perfection, beauty, virtue , power that is our triune God, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT has emptied himself of all that we worship and taken on the humanity that begins in bodily conception and is completed by death in order to complete the perfect sacrifice that is the only way for human sin to be obliterated.

Only the scriptures contain the words that come close to the reality that was the Crucifixion. The surrealist painting based on the sketch of St John of the Cross touches on the transcendental power and glory but we have to know that the depths of our remorse for our sins cannot come close to the agony that Jesus chose to bear on our behalf in order to create the "outward signs of inward grace" and the spiritual New Holy Family in which we can be sure that Jesus is still with us in this world.

Monday Week 9 Ordinary Time

Not all of the Temple-affiliated Scribes, Pharisees and Priests chose to oppose the charismatic preaching of Jesus of Nazareth. Of those who did some were sincerely committed to the "Law" against which in their opinion Jesus was a blasphemer.

"Forgive them for they know not what they do".

I cannot believe that anyone who, "in those days" truly listened to "The Word of the Lord" and witnessed his Miracles would have had the "brass neck" to condemn him. Maybe I am truly "begging the question", a metaphor that is often misused, but the Temple Authorities had accumulated too much prestige and authority in this world to listen to any alternative view of their opinions about how to live in accordance with the will of the only Supreme Spiritual Power as it was revealed throughout and by the life of Moses.

"Forgive them for they know not what they do".

For the last two thousand years Rabbinical Jews have determinedly maintained the opinions of Scribes, Pharisees and Priests about Jesus and treating the "Goyim" with contempt claiming the Resurrection to be a not so elaborate hoax and they have  since  turned themselves into the nonsense of  a largely atheist "Chosen People" who claim  a God-given right to obtain by force land and other property belonging to others.

"Forgive them even though they do know what they are doing"

I begin each day in the Palestine of 2000 years because that is the source of all that is True in this world. Jesus promised to be with us until the end of time which could mean that all that we know will come to an objective end, "finito" but certainly means that each one of us will die and enter into the permanent "now" of infinity. But before that final moment there is no need for anyone to be alone in this world. Our Father loves us. 

Each day I try to raise my mind and heart to IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT praying for grace to avoid sin so that I can enter into the New Holy Family, the Church of Love which is the heart of Jesus beating in the centre of any community which strives to avoid the things of this world in order to help each other enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Trinity Sunday

There are still millions of human beings who refuse to accept the revelations that were first made directly to individuals in the Middle East. 

It was there that the revelation to mankind that each individual's inner voice and awareness of being is activated to enable us to consciously respond to the "Creator" was first made and finally  brought to a conclusion on Calvary.

Moses came down from the mountain and the stone tablets now contain the words of God.

Everything is known to God; for him there are no probabilities or possibilities. Everything that has happened, is happening or will ever happen is known to Him. Each one of us, however, is not trapped inside an encoded programme that will determine how each moment of our life will develop. 

We are created in the image and likeness of God outside of whose being there exists nothing that exists, and we do share in the power of his freedom but  within the limits of Creation, the known Universe. Many of us over the centuries have been able to achieve wonders that are real, beautiful, and benign but we and everything that we do are always corruptible, subject to time.

Two thousand years ago God announced through the person of a Jewish teenager that he was going to completely reset the relationship between Himself and the Apex of  His Creation and to help us understand that the Incarnation is Real, that God can become man, he taught us that IAMIAM of Moses is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Today the Church reflects upon the "Trinity" and we too can with our body, mind and soul raise our hearts and minds to know that only the things of God, Faith, Hope and Charity are real in this world but that this is the only place where we can show our Love for God and that it was here that the Incarnation proved in real-time, once and for all of his creation that  Our Father is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Today I pray that ever more of us  open our hearts and ponder what it is that Our Father requires of us, ever mindful that his freely given support is always for us, also freely, to accept both in the Sacraments of Peter's Foundation Church and in the Church of Mystical Love the New Holy Family.

Saturday Week 8 Ordinary Time

Two thousand years after the Incarnation there is nothing that we can do during our lifetimes that is any better than what is recorded in the "Acts" and in the Pastoral letters that have been selected to guide us through our daily lives. 

Jesus himself taught us how to pray and his instructions have become our formal prayer, the "Our Father". 

Miriam was angry that her sister was just sitting at the feet of the Lord leaving her to prepare their "daily bread" on her own. Jesus assured Miriam that Mary "had chosen the better part" but "The Resurrection" even prepared breakfast for his Apostles before their return from the unsuccessful fishing trip on Lake Galilee.

Our primary task in life is to praise God, bow down before HIM and do his will here on Earth just as if we were already part of the spiritual community of true-being for whom God is "All in All", that we call Heaven but we do all have to preserve our bodies with which we are united and so we also have to pray for the sustenance to maintain our bodily lives and for the ability to produce it.

What we must not do, however, is to allow the cares and delights of this material world and being occlude our spiritual senses and awareness of the futility that debases "the wonder of my being" into  "bucket lists" of finite delights by ignoring the basic fact that even though we all die we also contain the image and likeness that is Eternal Life.

We are all capable of raising our hearts and minds in the ways taught by the words and deeds of the Incarnation. "You Lord have the words of Eternal Life".

St Jude directs us to be "prayerful, compassionate beings" always remembering that to fulfil the purpose of the Father we are dependent on the free gift of Loving Mercy won for us by Son and distributed directly into our beings by HOLY SPIRIT. 

The Pharisees questioned Jesus' authority and he stretched out his arms to receive the nails from which he hung over the Whole World telling us that his "authority" is the LOVE which is ever available in the new Sacramental reality he created at the Last Supper and in the sacred familial Love that is the New Holy Family.
