I always have to wait after reading the mass-readings for this page to appear on my screen. Sometimes I lose touch with what I have read minutes before. God knows that this blog is a record necessary for me to retain my hold on the reality of God's purpose for me and of the contrition that is not just the acknowledgment of my sins.
My aim is to seek God's Truth in what I read and respond in my truth to the inspired words, the Scriptures, that begin about 3,000 years ago and contain all that we need to know to complete our lives in righteous integrity, the holiness that is God's will for us all to enjoy.
We should all be happy even in the most miserable of circumstances. We who have welcomed the completed word of the Lord and recognise in awe-struck gratitude that Jesus in his "time" writhed in the agony that is the only possible, atonement great enough to eradicate the "evil" we inherit from Adam/Eve and is the root cause of all the wickedness created by mankind throughout the ages.
I know that AdamEve, Mary, Jesus are the only human beings who have begun their lives on earth without sin. AdamEve disobeyed. They did not do this through ignorance for God had warned them.
In today's Gospel Jesus tells us that to follow him even to the cross is easy, not at all a heavy load. Most of my life I have not opened my heart and not even tried to respond to "my yoke is easy, my burden light". Convinced of the impossibility, I have not accepted these words as an eternal truth spoken as was the "do not eat of the tree of knowledge".
God is really lovely and great and in his eternal totality he offers his world for us to see the good with which he surveyed the whole of his creation. He promises to help us and has sealed that promise with the perfect sacrifice on Calvary.
That is why Jesus can say, "Come to me all you who labour and are burdened and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke, and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden is light".
