The whole of the Bible becomes for us God's complete revelation of the way in which we can live in human liberty choosing to follow his instructions that will bring about the victory of righteousness over sin. 

We have to know that only we sinners can make amends for sin by accepting our own fault as such and then following the only way, truth and life, revealed in scripture, that leads to the mansions in "Our Father's House".

God did not choose to "cancel" his creation that was marred by the "Original Sin" and start again for "What I have written, I have written". Everything that comes from God is endowed with some of his  Perfect Being and cannot be uncreated. It does, however, have to be fulfilled. "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven".

At the beginning of the Bible the Patriarchs are ready to argue with God about his Justice and in his responses God is very much like a human father, e.g. in the patience revealed in this morning's exchange with that "Cheeky young Abraham".

At the denouement recorded in the New Testament, however, the completion of God's only revelation is in a reality of "Hard Sayings" and the real-time finality of the "Grotesque Horror of an Impossible Death" followed by the "Equally Impossible Glorious Resurrection". 

We, the eightieth generation since "those days", have still not been able to totally accept the call to righteousness that IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT never ceases to make and continue  to put our Self and Mammon before all that has been revealed and done for us. 

Dear Lord, how is it possible that a created being can still stand in defiance of you and refuse your Love? Help me to atone for my own sins and let me join Mary and all the Saints in their fervent pleas for all sinners who are mindlessly following our own wills and losing our own souls in pursuit of sensual and material pleasures that have nothing to add to life except to make it end in death that can become permanent .

As always, I do not begin to pray without making a personal effort. As I make that effort I know that I am not alone in my need to find the right thread that will lead me out of the maze of awareness that becomes the obscurity of my own incomplete being.

I can only become complete when at the end of my earthly life, the pure light of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is for me the beginning and the end of the New Creation out of which all evil has been excluded.

We are not told why but, for some reason, today Jesus has led his Apostles to a pagan sanctuary at the foot of Mount Hermon. 

We can, however, surmise, for it is a place where the corruption that was destroying the faith that was founded on Abraham, Moses and the Prophets was preeminently manifest in the pagan temples that had been constructed both by Philip the Tetrarch and his father Herod, "Kings of the Jews".

So much has happened since those days when "Jesus walked"; so much has been thought, said and done. But on that day in the awe-inspiring natural beauty that can still been seen in photographs of  Banias; our God who knew that his creation was "good" singled out one of his creation to bear the responsibility of leading all of mankind along the Way, that in itself was also both Truth and Life and would be guaranteed by God until the end of time.

The events of History have convinced me that it is mankind in its freedom that is responsible for the accumulation of the billions of individual temporal words and deeds that we mis-name as God's Providence. 

Jesus chose Peter, face to face. Peter denied Jesus. Peter pleaded for forgiveness. Jesus reaffirms Peter.  Peter begins to fulfill his mission. Peter is finally accepted from a cross.

Paul persecuted the first believers. He, the person Saul, was blasted into belief and thereafter obeyed the will of the Lord to the extent that he is able to express to Timothy his  absolute faith that he is during his life being welcomed into the Eternity of Salvation.

I am sure that God did not intend for his Church that he founded in the presence of the physical witness of the failure of his people Israel to do his will, to become as quickly corrupt as did the Institution he founded on St Peter.

The developments in both Rome and Constantinople before the end of the first millennium, however,  show us a Church  completely  subsumed in the "things of this world".

The decision to liberate Jerusalem, the Crusades, which opens the second Christian millennium could only have happened because each Christian individual involved  chose to personally ignore the spiritual calling  of the Ten Commandments and the words of Christ. "My Kingdom is not of this world". 

Eighty generations of us have passed away since the time Jesus not only walked and talked but  suffered unimaginably to become the only deed that could become the Salvation needed to ensure the Advent of a New Creation. 

We "Gen 80" can only use our Freedom to know that this is true for even the most intelligent of us is limited to only understanding physical matter that is nothing greater than the dust from which we are all created and to which our bodies will all return.

We can all, however, be sure that we are able to be bathed in loving grace if our hearts are opened with a sincere desire to become "people of God" and thus become able to return to Our Father the thanks that will open for us a place in the New Heavens where God will be All-in-All and sin no more.

Each time the Liturgy is celebrated, we return to the final assembly of Jesus and his Apostles that is the beginning of the completion of the Incarnation, the event that although eternally present with IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is also a real-time, historical event that began some 33 years before the Last Supper and was concluded forty days later.

During that time in the Upper Room Jesus, True God, summed up in word and Sacrament  for all time the significance of "image and likeness" and the relationship between that limited freedom and his "Evergreater" Being. 

Even the Apostles, the "friends" and witnesses who had followed for three years had had to have their experiences interpreted for them. They had listened with rapt attention to his, way beyond that of Scribes and Pharisee, authority but they  still had to have Jesus' parables explained to them. They could not "understand the miracles" but only wonder in awe. We know that there was much more to come.

Towards the end of his long and holy life John who had had the incalculable grace of living with Our Lady "blessed art thou among women"  added to the Infinite blessings of knowing Jesus that he had shared with all the other Apostles, except Paul, was inspired to add to the "Synoptic Gospels" his own remembrances of Jesus' prayers and teaching.

The Holy Spirit is always a Spirit of Righteousness. 

In the first reading, St Paul under the influence of the Holy Spirit, encourages Timothy to aim for righteousness by avoiding the stupid quarrels and disagreements that had marred the progress of the Early Church first in Jerusalem and thereafter in any other place where there was a new foundation.

The Holy Spirit is also a Spirit of Truth. 

In the second reading, St John also under the influence of the Holy Spirit records for all time the Truth which brings the Unity and Theology which has given him for all time the title, The Theologian.

O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you

I know  you and these know that you have sent me

I made known to them your name 

and will continue to make it known

That the Love with which you have loved me may be in them

and I in them.

The readings that are used in the liturgy are part of the completed record of God's Revelation. The Holy Bible is available to each one of us to instruct us how we have to respond in our own beings to the Supreme Mystery of Being who is always our Good Shepherd.

The texts that we use were finalized in the fifth century but their awareness of God is from the depths of time  when the first generation of mankind was adapting to life in a world into which our first parents had introduced sin.

Many, many generations later we have to face living in a world where we can both ignore our sins and protect ourselves from the dangers of material life. 

Some of us, therefore,  think that we can discard the image of peace that the "Good Shepherd" has been for centuries for we can tell ourselves that mankind has become  its own Guardian God and only "Losers", those afraid to face up to the visible Universe and proclaim the greatness of Humanity, could be pathetic enough to bow down before anything immaterial and unseen, a product of human weakness and fear.

Today's feast celebrates the wisdom, power, loving-kindness that is the Incarnation. 

In the New-Testament, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT has preempted any alternatives to his revelations that could ever be made by those who choose in their pride to become his enemies. He has only ever wanted us to return his Love and thus become holy. 

Jesus true God and True Man has a truly human, both physical and spiritual heart that is the first fruits of the New Creation that will mark the end of time. It is from this heart, pierced for us on Calvary,  that flowed out blood and water that is the infinite mercy of our God. Maranatha Lord, Come Lord Jesus Come!

I and everyone else are responsible for recognising that we are not just part of some random event in which we are aware only of our own being. We not only have to know, "Lord, Lord" but love and serve by doing his will.

The experiences and awareness of some of the earliest of our forefathers are recorded in the fragments of recorded history that we know as the Book of Genesis. 

Those were the first people to be presented by God with the same task of being consciously aware of their own being as part of the vast reality of creation as am I when each morning I awake from sleep into consciousness of myself and what I know of God and of the world today and its history.

Today, God knows, that I stalled unable, at first, to face the facts that are always the challenges of  being alive. I was "sore afraid" but unable to return to the peace of sleep

I  have, since that dismal first awakening, struggled in the deserts of Ur of the Chaldees and the darkness of the obscurity that is the origin of the Jews and their knowledge of the ONEGOD.

I can be  enlightened by the Psalm which is the joy of developing Faith and realisation of the Love that is the Supreme Being. 

I can finally  leave all obscurity behind when I come into the presence of Jesus.

God, however, knows that I am still, even as I close my reflections today, not as peaceful in myself as I usually am when sincerely raising my heart and mind in prayer. 

There is absolutely no reason why accepting the Will of God should ever be easy and comfortable. The conclusion of the revelations that began with Abraham in obscurity was preceded by the public display of pain and suffering leading to the death of Christ, Son of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT and it is my sins that contributed to this ultimate of evils that is the condition for the reset of Creation that enables us all to return with Christ to the Father.

Dear Lord, help me to be truly grateful for your grace which never ceases to help me avoid sin. Let me not forget that I am not alone and that my soul is part of the Mystical Body that is the Church of Love that forms the New Holy Family. Let me never forget to pray for the forgiveness of my sins and those of the whole world. Drive  me away from the self-satisfaction that starts to arrive whenever I think that I am aligned with your will. May my prayers be one with those of Mary as we seek your pardon for the Holy Souls and that the Leaders of Mankind resist temptation and abandon the social evils and love of power that kills the unborn, shortens the span of live and blasts "enemies" off the face of the Earth,

It is always possible for each one of us to become our own "false-prophet". All the evil that is still being created at this moment as I try to find my way to the truth that comes from God begins in the hearts of men who are accepting themselves as the sole source of truth in this world.

In my lifetime, I have been aware of much evil both perpetrated by "others"  and in my personal sins. I know that  there is no evil that comes from God and that I have always been able, although often have failed, to avoid the temptations which I have accepted to create even more sin.

All evil/sin is always created by those who follow the selfish promptings of their own beings and ignore the beginning of "Righteousness" that is "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God" and "Wisdom" that is "Fear of the Lord".

I am sure that for myself that it is my "iam", miniscule as it certainly is, that wields an inordinate amount of power in respect of itself and continues to challenge as do all "false prophets" the Revelations that, always, are the source of  "wisdom, understanding, counsel, knowledge, fortitude piety and fear of the Lord" that must be accepted by each human being if we are to be delivered from the false fruits of the human liars who still dominate us in this world.

Two thousand years have passed since Jesus warned us of the lies which have grown ever stronger. Eighty human generations have failed to leave to their heirs the perfection that results from perfect adherence to Resurrection Faith.

We have, however,  never completely forgotten "I will be with you even to the end of time" and can still call out to IAMFTHERSONHOLYSPIRIT, Our Lord, Mary and all the Saints with confidence that Loving-Kindness, Loving Forgiveness Loving Mercy are totally accessible for us who can overcome self-pride, self-love, and self-satisfaction which are the marks of our personal "False-Prophet" whom we all know and have to disown, to enable us to do the will of God.

Today the Scriptures appointed to be read at mass celebrate the birth of the last of the Old Testament Prophets, John, who was to round off the central role played in the History of Salvation by the Children of Abraham by preparing the way for the Incarnate Son to become the total revelation of what each one of us should strive with the whole of our beings to become. 

We are Christians and our Faith is the Resurrection.

In those days, the living people about whom we read were becoming the events recorded as scripture for us to contemplate in our own real-time which has been completely enlightened by those events of which today's can be thought of as the beginning. 

They were Jews who already had  a unique place in the History of the Human Race.

They had, however, continued to ignore the revelations made solely to them and somehow misused their freedom to the extent that their created evil was so great that it had to be overcome only by the self-humiliation and immolation of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT for a re-set of created reality to take place.

Eighty generations after those days we cannot ignore that evil is still being created by the actual descendants of those who marvelled at "His name is John" and by us who have never truly accepted the Grace of "those days" and of 2000 years of Resurrection Faith.

In those days, although it seems that Abram is alone with God as Adam had been in the Garden, when he heard the voice of God, Abram was not alone in the world. Many more than one individual and civilization had come and gone from "Ur of the Chaldees" when Our Father began again to teach us how to live obedient and worshipful lives in the Light of his Supreme Being.

When I begin my daily response to my own consciousness and awareness of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT I know that innumerable human beings are also alive today and many generations have come and gone. I know that at exactly this moment I can do as Jesus tells us all to do and find the "mote" that obscures me from the pure light that came to Abram so many centuries ago and has never been turned off since the beginning of time.

Today there is so much happening in the world that is so obviously contrary to the Love that overflows to become God's creation that I feel actually sick in my stomach and quite desperate that the ones I know and love are going to live on punished for the sins of their fathers.

I really am weak and frightened that I could be a "loser" not only in the eyes of the world but also in the sight of God. These are not just words. They are my real fear but as I write them I catch a glimpse of the hill outside the walls, long long ago in Palestine, where today man's wickedness rains down hateful death and destruction, where the weak and totally defeated Jesus, our love, creates from the pain of the cross the assurance of his Church of Love, the New Holy Family, the unfailing source of Grace that can never be defeated even though all the enemies of God unite as they have never done before, even when they killed God in the land he had given to their Father, Abram and have, during my lifetime, never ceased to disgrace by their arrogant selfish inhumanity.

Dear Lord, you know how your warning about "judging others" can so easily become the ignoring of evil to the extent of supporting it out of lack of trust in you. My Lord, you have never commended those who have ignored your commandments and told us all to pray for our enemies. I hope that I have no hatred for anything except the outstanding evils of my lifetime which are as much manifest today in the hateful actions of Jews as subjects as it was when they themselves suffered so much as objects of hatred.

We are still not making a very good job of doing your will on Earth. Help more of  us to live in a way that shows a greater willingness to believe that it is still only by "loving our neighbour as ourselves" that we can "know, love and serve" and thus become people bearing a closer resemblance to what you intended us to be. Amen

The parish into which I was born was named Corpus Christi. My Christian life thus began centered on the Body of Christ. It was on this Feast Day some 80 years ago that I first accepted that the masses which I had attended with my mum and dad, and at which I was to serve for many years after this my first communion were the most important events of mine and any other body's human life.

It is some years since I have received the Sacrament or even attended the liturgy which even in my sinfulness I truly loved.

The Lord knows that I am truly open to receive his grace that we all need to do his will on Earth. It is each individual human being that responds to IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. Some of us are gifted to do so with flights of creative beauty that are pure joy and delight in the knowing of God. We can all thank God for the scriptures and for the works of man that touch our hearts as today's sequence which is Faith, Truth and Beauty conceived in a human soul that adds love and service to his knowledge of "Our Father".

I have in recent times loved to try to understand the Theology preached by Balthasar and his friend Ratzinger but completely flummoxed as to how their Church has become less and less relevant over the centuries even though many other holy priests have also explained and expounded on their understanding of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

The Institutional Church founded on St Peter has repeated the failings of the Chosen People and has never lived up to its own or the teaching of its founder. Just as humanity in the mystery that is revealed in the depths of Genesis could not begin to follow IAMIAM until Moses accepted his mission so even Jesus' declaration "My Kingdom is not of this World" has never been followed in its univocity.

It is a fact of history that the Incarnation happened at the time it did and that it was necessary at that time for the salvation of the world. 

Jesus promised that although he returned to the Father he would never leave us alone in this world. At innumerable times during the  80 generations of human beings that have dominated their times in this life since then we have to look back and ask how it could be possible for the Church to amass treasure in this world, expand its territory, kill its enemies and ever be able to fulfill its mission to be the Holy Guardian of the Sacramental Body and Blood which is the reason for today's liturgical celebration.

Dear Lord, forgive us for the violence of the Crusades that were instigated by Popes and other Bishops even at the same time as St Thomas glorified You in the holiness of his life's work, for the Second World War and those other wars that the dedication of holy Churchmen was unable to avert. And for what is happening now at this moment as a result of the alliance of unholiness of your once "Chosen Ones" with " Me me Me I'm Mammon and Good TV" in a world that can still become what you intend it to become for we can all still choose to be "The New Holy Family", live in unity with Mary and all Your Saints and thus complete our lives in holiness. We can all still accept your call to holiness, Thanks be to God! Amen.

St Paul continues to "boast" by opening the very depths of his being to the scrutiny of those with whom he has been entrusted to share the fruits of his conversion. 

He has accepted the gifts of the Holy Spirit and knows that it is these gifts that he must share. He is experiencing a new reality. Christ lives in him and can also be shared by each one of us for IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT never diminishes no matter how many of us accept his free gift of himself.

St Paul is now the person he was created to become; he is a Christian, a human being living in this material universe, who knows that the things of this world are mere distractions that we have to ignore in order to concentrate on becoming the "losers" much despised by the rich and powerful of this world who ignore the words of the Lord's Prayer and fervently seek out temptation that they may bring even more evil into the world.

I too can boast with St Paul for we have all been given the same opportunity to be saved by the Incarnation's completed revelation. I too can strive to become "a loser" by rejecting materialism and pray constantly in the way that Jesus taught us.

In this morning's Gospel Jesus' words make it quite clear that our total adherence to the words of our Rabbi is not easy. Most of the time allotted to me  has been completely tied up in the things of this world. 

If I am to become truly a "Christian Loser" I have also to avoid despising as "Evil Bastards" all the Enemies of God who are the "The Rich and the powerful, the Good and the Great, the Learned and the Clever, the Scum of the Earth" for even those who today are ordering hundreds of us to kill and to be killed are "Our neighbour" whom we always have to "love" as much as we do ourselves .

All generations of mankind are created by the unperceivable, although revealed to us, inconceivable although proven to us, inestimable although living and dying for us "Other" from whom we can never hide, as Cain tried to do, for his Light penetrates into the deepest darkness we can create for ourselves.

St Paul is a very loveable man. He is certainly recognisable as non other than human. His  powerful personality  knows that "His saviour liveth" and that he has to fill his time on earth completing with joy the Mission that the Light of the Resurrection left him blinded but in no doubt about at his personal epiphany. His testimony is part of the "words of eternal life" recognised by St Peter, another recognisable "human being" who is part of that special human generation when "Jesus walked".

The  Revelation completed 2000 years ago by the "Jesus Generation" is the only "way, truth and life" for each individual person to live the life of holiness in this world for which we have been created. 

Jesus who was also truly as human as Peter and Paul was loved with a personal love by his family and friends during his lifetime but has become much more remote to us who have for 2000 years known him with more awe as "True God" crucified for us, the Saviour of mankind.

There have never been enough "holy ones" in this world for there to have ever been a  historical "Holy Generation" subsequent to the unique, unrepeatable, time of the Incarnation. Even the Church founded on St Peter soon lost its struggle against the joy of materialism and contrary to the direct words of Jesus laid up for itself the treasures that keep her to this day tied to the kingdom of this world.

IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT, however, has never deserted us and although largely anonymous the New Holy Family has continued to be cherished by the Holy Spirit so that even when at my most sinful there has always been a life-line of grace for me and all other sinners to grasp and lovingly believe with  holy gratitude that "I will be with you until the end of time."

The only true response that we can make to "Our Father" is to choose to live in Holiness and thus blind ourselves to all that promotes our being to the detriment of God.

Looking at our world leaders today, June 20 2025, I have to say that all, yes ALL, leaders of men are in truth and ever have been, enemies of God for no-one who does the will of God seeks more for himself than to personally know love and serve by becoming perfect even as our Heavenly Father is perfect.

God became incarnate with us in this world as without his mercy there could be no-one of us who is saved.

Dear Lord help me to avoid adding to the ingratitude that began with the Jews' refusal to live according to your revealed will for this creation and which, even though we have seen your Crucifixion and Resurrection, has been maintained consistently for 60 Generations on this Earth. Our fixation on our selves, our pride in our being has been witnessed by all the physical violence of History and evil hatred of Good which overcomes our will to bear witness to you the only Good, the one source of perfect leadership that can bring us to the safety of the eternal happiness that you have prepared for us . May this my prayer be heard and may all this generation become as St. Paul a convert living solely in the Light that penetrates all darkness and return love for Love as all who have ever lived on Earth should do.

I experience not a few "odd moments", moments when something maybe trivial and usually inexplicable draws my attention, as I try to respond to the daily mass readings and thus become part of the generation that knew Jesus as "true man" and "true God". 

St Paul proclaims the resurrection but feels "a bit daft about it" as he is worried that he has not done a good enough job to ensure that the "Truth that comes from God" will stand up to the opposition that it is already facing.

He cannot understand how it is that the Corinthians do not have the  love for God and accept his preaching in the same way that he does. He asks them to have patience for he may lack eloquence but his knowledge is faultless. 

He can attribute his embarrassing personal nit-picking to his wish to be seen to be doing everything for the Lord and knows that his scruples about "not charging" for the "Word of God" are just that, a scruple which becomes for me an "odd moment of incomplete understanding" as I try to follow the totally honest examination of his own conscience that accompanies St. Paul's preaching.

For centuries "The Lord's Prayer" has been a tangible part of the cultural/religious fabric of Western Civilization. It  has come automatically into the minds of individuals at moments of stress and fear and been part of all public liturgies. Anybody reading these words knows that that may have been true at some times in the past but it is certainly not true today.

Jesus knows that we can never come close to "understanding" the infinity of the Supreme Being but we all have to recognise that he reaches out to each of us as does a human father to his children. We cannot understand but we can all trust and respond to him as children and the first part of "raising our hearts minds to God " is always to acknowledge him as "FATHER" of IAMFATHERSONHOLYPIRIT.

Today, as always, I am striving for sincerity and holiness but even as Jesus teaches us how to pray I am distracted by an "Odd moment". How would the first disciples have known how "Pagans babbled"? I have no idea what went on in Pagan "prayer".

Dear Lord, you know that throughout each day I try to never forget that you are with me always and that I can become truly holy as you are holy by obeying you by my personal choice in this material universe just as do the intangible beings that are in your created world of the spirit. Help us to feed all our brothers and sisters with both food for the body and for our souls and let us learn that we are only forgiven when we truly forgive those who try to harm us. Help us to know and avoid anything that causes us to add to the deeds of your enemies who bring even more evil into your creation and let my sins, those of the whole world and the Holy Souls, continue to be forgiven by your inexhaustible mercy. Amen.

Our Lord's mission was to return the backsliding "People of God", the Jews of Palestine to the human righteousness that God had intended for all of us but which had been rejected by Adam and Eve.

Palestine was and still is the only "Holy Land". It was there that God's revelation to mankind began and was completed. It is the setting for God's direct intervention in time and space. It was and still is a place where mankind's sinful struggle against God became and is still, manifest.

In many places throughout our World, not only in the Middle East, as it became unencumbered by the need to devote itself to supporting its body  Human Liberty, "image and likeness" was able to react and join with others to share in the difficulties of being alive. We know the results of this process as "Civilizations".

The Jews were the first to hear "IAMIAM", consciously receive the Love manifest in the Commandments and thus become the "People of God" by striving to conform to his will.

There have always been many who have not been engraced but by the liberty of human thought have been able to delight in humanity's ability to understand and create. It is this Joy in Humanity explicitly Hellenism that had corrupted the Holiness of the Jews to the extent that the Incarnate Son had to live the perfect human life and become for us by life, death and Resurrection "the Way, the Truth and the Life"  leading to the eternal joy of  IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Help me Lord to be sincere in my "inner room" and let there be no pride in these my mornings' tasks with which I seek to contemplate your will as displayed in my own and former times. May my prayers become one with those of Mary and all the saints that we on Earth become the modern day disciples living just as did she and the Apostles in the "real-presence" of Jesus. Help us all to become part of the New Holy Family, The never changing "Jesus Generation".

Today, St Paul is addressing the practicalities of being the "People of God" in this world. He is encouraging the Corinthian Church by extolling the virtues of the Macedonians shown in their response to the problems being faced in Jerusalem which in the course of the first Century are only going to get worse.

Jesus had reprimanded the hypocritical "virtue-signalling" of Judas when he complained that Mary's use of costly unguent to wash the  feet of her Lord had been a waste of resources with the unforgettable "The poor are always with you". 

I know that not one of us has been born into this era of time by personal choice neither has IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT selected us to be "the poor or the rich" of this world. The Physical Universe is limited by the "code inputted at the moment of creation" and the "sun" and "rain" are not directed by God in favour of any of us either evil or good, just or unjust.  We have also been instructed not to believe in the economic laws of Mammon that create the " Kingdom of this World" that is centred on wealth but ultimately valueless.

We, however, have been created to obey the will of Our Father and no matter the time or circumstances of our birth have to say "Yes" to the grace that enables us to become "sons of the Father" always aware that the Incarnate Life of Son of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is lived for each of us that we too may learn to put the lives and needs of others always before our own.

We have to aim for the absolute for Jesus tells us that we can achieve it when we direct our Freedom towards knowing loving and serving as did he.

You, therefore must be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.

The sole purpose of my life has to be conformity with the revelation completed by Jesus and preached by the Apostles.

This world has never witnessed an event more meaningful and awe-inspiring than the one and for all time reality of the Incarnation, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is "true man". He has used his limitless freedom to beget himself, the eternal Son, body and blood, as are we, in the womb of sinless Mary to thus truly develop as human and grow as the perfection of creation, a New Adam.

We can stop asking "why?" when we know this. God never lies. He wants us all to choose to become "image and likeness" and to know that we can escape from all sin into the freedom of the "Sons of God" because he is our Saviour and has lived the same reality, except for sin, as we do solely "pro nobis", for us. Human sin is so abhorrent and great a counteraction to loving creation, that it can only be eradicated by shedding the lifeblood of God made Man.

I understand that the drama of St Paul's conversion was too much for many in the infant Church, too much to be accepted. People are always strange. Their new faith was based on bearing witness to the earth-shattering Resurrection and yet they could be loth to believe its power to make new converts.

Nevertheless God's gifts to the "Little disciple", "the runt of the litter" were so great that as I read his words written to the Corinthians 2000 years ago I had to slow down and give thanks for the men and women who were able to build up the deeds of Faith that convince me that theirs is the Generation part of which we should all strive  to become.

There have been great movements in the History of St Peter's Church since the days of the Fathers but it is my believe that the Hierarchical Institution that is the crumbling reality of today has never truly lived up to its Mission. There has always been a problem in that not only was she consciously "part of this world" but she also took a too an active part in building it up.

How can we read today's "But I say to you; Do not resist the one who is evil but if anyone slaps  you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also" without feeling shame filled horror  for not only all the religious wars that have accompanied the development and decline of Christian Civilization but all the acts of violence perpetrated and incited against her perceived enemies by the rulers of "The Mystical Body of Christ".

Each day I have to thank God for my personal purpose of amendment that guides me to begin each day in prayer and for the inspiration of the Holy Spirit who assures me that the Grace of Calvary has always been present in the Church of Love, the New Holy Family and sometimes in parts of its Petrine Institution.

Trinity Sunday

Although this world has changed so much in my lifetime, the revelation of how and why we are to live in righteousness was completed 2000 years ago. 

The Church founded on Peter has only ever had one function to fulfill and can be judged only by how well she is still "feeding" the flocks that are all the new generations in this world of human bodies that accommodate the souls, "image and likeness" of the creative Love, that is the Supreme Being, IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT, and today celebrated as "The Holy Trinity".

In the first of this morning's readings we are taught that we can use our human "wisdom" to recognise and worship, as does the Psalmist, the "ever greater" Wisdom of God.

Very shortly after the worldly time of the Incarnation, St Paul is inspired to interpret how Jesus has completed all that we need to be able to do to become holy as Our Father is holy.

Today's Gospel is only some of the human words that reveal the Divine Truth that is part of the Church's mission to preserve and feed to each new generation. Our minds are all limited and can only partially absorb the "evergreatness" of God and our personal missions to know, love and serve. 

Wisdom tells all of us that even though "you have put all things under our feet" we can never challenge God and so we must aggressively resist any tendency to pride as, although loved with a love that surpasseth all understanding, we can build nothing in either the physical universe or in our minds that comes close to the Glory that is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT finally revealed in the event that is Jesus, Life, Death and Resurrection.

He will glorify me for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

All that the Father has is mine.

Therefore I said , He will take what is mine and declare it to you.

God knows that I am still living after so many years fundamentally as did the child that became first aware of  my responsibility for my personal sin some 80 years ago. I can remember childish greed, jealousy and the dishonesty with which I tried to hide these manifestations of the selfishness which is still the source of the disquietude that prevents me from being consistently at peace with God.

St Paul, however, has complete confidence that Christ's self-sacrifice has achieved its objective and continues to live and preach the life of the Resurrection brought about by the literal "topsy turvy" and total conversion which inspires everything that he has experienced and preached since then even to the martyrdom with which he seals his own being in perfect imitation of Christ.

I thank God that I can read and not only understand Paul's perception of IAMFATHERSONANDHOLYSPIRIT but also believe that his interpretation of the Way, Truth and Life revealed by Jesus and by his legacy to his Apostles is the only way for all of us to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to Our Father.

As I tried to concentrate half a minute or so ago in 2025 on what Paul had written to the first generation of Christians living in Corinth  nearly 2000 years ago I was able to maintain confidence with heartfelt thanks in the Resurrection Faith that is still the same today as it was then. 

I also knew, just as did St. Paul, that the first friends of the Incarnation were still living and teaching not only "every word that comes from the mouth of God" but also proclaiming every deed of Immanuel. Our Father ensured by the contemporality of the Incarnation with Roman road-building that it was possible for the Gospel to spread "throughout the world" as quickly as it could ever have done before "those days".

Jesus brought forgiveness for the entirety of Sin and so in his teaching warned us also that every little disobedience even those of our childhoods are an offence against the perfect goodness that is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. 

He has not abolished the "Law" but perfected it. I am, however, still far from perfect. I am still the "little child" that has to be allowed to approach the Lord. I cannot come to the perfect peace that "surpatheth all understanding" unless I completely overcome the  childishness of pride that begins with " King baby" screaming and shouting not only for the nourishment of food but also recognition of "being" that has to be subdued if we are to live in our right relationship to God.

St Paul is filled with the Light of the Resurrection. This is the unseen presence of the Holy Spirit that  each of us in every age can choose to recognise and by so doing call upon his help to strengthen the material, the  earthenware of our physical being, in our spiritual fight against sin.

Saul's completely human life had been brought to an abrupt halt on the "Road to Damascus". From that moment he became a man who never lost touch, even though completely in the world, with the  entirely not of this world living presence of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

Today Paul repeats Jesus' prayer at the Last Supper, even before John had recorded it in writing, directly for the first believing people of Corinth and for us all to share with each other in the unity that is the Love, that is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT revealed.

We know that Paul lived in this world focused on the Truth that comes from God. Jesus is the Incarnation. God himself experiences " the treasure in jars of clay " that is human being and thus chooses to limit himself for 33 years in human time to overcome Sin not by Infinite Power but by Infinite Love.

I cannot fully understand but do "know", "believe and so I speak". 

God knows that sexual sins "adultery" are the most difficult for us to curtail for it is through sex that we can create the children for whom our ability to Love as "Image and likeness" becomes the most manifest.

Even in Jesus' time on earth human beings took steps to prevent the conception of babies and  killed the unwanted born. Modern biological technology has enabled us to completely separate sex from fertility and for the last two generations the quest for sexual pleasure has come to be the most dominant force in our world.

I do know, however, that it is not God's will for human beings to choose to live lives that prepare them to prove at the moment of their death that "Hell" is real and truly "The final outcome."

Help us Lord to overcome the power that we have to shape our own lifetime  failures even though you have already completed in the revelation of the Jesus and the Apostolic generation all that we ever need to know and do only your will during our lives on Earth. I always need more from you and am not alone in this. Help us by your grace!

Our Saviour is undoubtedly the "true man" son of God and son of Mary.

He has lived, except for sin, just as we do. He too has been begotten, developed as do all mammals, begun to breathe and then taken his final breath.

I know that I can never fulfill the yearning to understand that is part of the human being ("isness") with which our innermost "Image and Likeness" reveals a hint of the Infinite Splendour, which can never be grasped, that is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. 

I do not know whether or not Isaiah's words are a description of a God-given vision or a creation of his human imagination.

I do know that John is remembering the real-time of the event at which he had been present 40/50 years previously. We are not reading a verbatim report. We have the "soul" of Jesus recorded in an instant of reciprocal Love that is beyond my mental understanding but can be sought, meditated upon and cherished by all who would be safe in the flock of the Good Shepherd.

Jesus has emptied himself of  his divinity to become "True Man" except for sin. The sublimity of John's account of the Prayer of the "Last Supper" is so overpowering that it seems that only "God from God" is present with the remaining Apostles in the "Upper Room". 

Our Saviour, however, is "true man". He is Son of God but also the Son of Mary, a human being born without sin, and as today we witness the wonder of Jesus in perfect prayer; as he is what we all are created to be, we can come to realise that what it is that is necessary to be restored in creation damaged by human sin can only be done by God's own participation. Fearful as that seems to be.

We can all be as close to Our Father as Jesus Son of Mary and know, love and serve with perfection for the Immense Horror that is sin has been defeated by Our God. Our Liberty, which is the touch of God's own Freedom, however has not been limited. We have to remember that it is still by our own choice that we accept the safety that comes from Son's own prayer.

I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known

That the Love with which you have loved me may be in them

And I in them.

Today's psalm returns the exuberant joy that Jesus displayed in yesterday's Gospel reading. The "salt of the Earth" responds with "A new song to the Lord for he has brought salvation" to his people. Many centuries have passed since the Psalmist taught his choir to sing that new song in the Temple at Jerusalem.

We are now at the beginning of the third millennia of  "Christianity". Millions of us have lived and died since the time the followers of "The Law" were first called Christians in Antioch. That City itself has been destroyed and rebuilt several times since the Apostles met, prayed and learnt how to centre their lives on the Resurrection Faith taught by the Incarnation.

In my life-time I have witnessed an incredible advancement in mankind's "greatness". This "thing" that is showing me what I am thinking as I literally manipulate it with the limits of my material being, my fingertips, is so wonderful that it could easily captivate me for the rest of today, even for the rest of my life.

The material world which, even with low-level technology, has always been able to captivate mankind with its natural wonders and challenges to our intelligences is the place created by IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT in which for us to have our being. We are all tiny "iams" that are intended by God to be the highest form of his created "Good" in this world.

There is always "something greater here". All of our generations have had "The Law" made known to us.  Each one of us has our freedom curtailed by our allotted time but within our time we all have been, are and will be guided by the eternal law of human life of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT which has never changed over recorded time. We have to use the wonder of our freedom to make the right choice each moment of our lives.

Whenever I do not literally begin my day by attending to the Mass Readings, even though I have not  always been wasting my ability to concentrate in uselessness, I have to search for the guidance which has been the surprise of my life when I do recognise  the Holy Spirit, only "Yes", in my present and past reflections.

In fact, it is more often than not that I do respond and though I was worried today about my delay,  St Paul's unqualified faith in the Son of God and confidence in the Holy Spirit can only bring me the Joy of being consciously in the presence of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT.

The Eastertide readings from John's Gospel of Love have now been completed and we return to the "real-time" of Matthew as we follow and listen to the Incarnation as he calls his People back to the Covenants and the "True Law" of the Scriptures, away from the self-deception that is personified as the "Pharisees" but is the pit on the edge of which I know that I too am always tottering.

Jesus really loves his disciples. He thinks that we are great, the best of all creation. We are the "Salt of the Earth". We are the ones who are to enhance the work of our Creator by living in the Light and reflecting his Glory by not only avoiding but also by condemning sin. 

Back in my own "real-time" "now" on earth, I know that Jesus' feet are as firmly planted in the dust of this world as are his and his disciples' that day in Palestine and the "Begotten not made, True man" knows that for us to guarantee our perfect obedient worship of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT requires us to curb the Liberty that is our human splendour but must be acknowledged as gift of the "Good" seen by Our Father, His "Dad" if we are to annihilate self-love, the source of all sin.

Every time I read Jesus' "You are the salt of the Earth" I remember a Turkish Language proverb used to this day in the Asia Minor of Paul's missionary journeys. 

"Use salt to stop meat rotting. But what if the salt is rotten?

Jesus answers that it is trampled into dust as are all material delights and their sensual enhancements.

We are all responsible for our own lives but we only have to ask and the Grace of Our Evergreater Father really becomes Paul's guarantee of our place in Christ, Mystical Body uniting Heaven and Earth, Church of Love, New Holy Family and the only source of complete safety until the End of Time.

Mary, Mother of the Church

Today we are left speechless by that moment when Jesus completed the worldly life of the Incarnation. John's "It is finished", in Mathew and Mark, is the uncomprehending despair of "Lama Lama Sabachtani" . Luke, who is to continue his record of God's final intervention into the human-time of this creation as "The Acts", has a much more hopeful "Into thy hands I commend my spirit".

But "Scripture" is much more than words. It is the living presence of the Holy Spirit who has never left us alone to follow our own way through the time and material of this creation. God communicated without words to Adam but the first disobedience created the corruption that IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT still trusts us to use our freedom, His Image and Likeness, to defeat.

The "words" of Scripture use human language to record the deeds of mankind and revelations of God in the spiritual light of that revelation in order to guide us back to IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT. 

The lesson of the Old Testament is that even with God as present to them in revelation and deed as he was to so many of their generations the Human Freedom of the Jews was able to continue to add even more to the ever growing burden of unrighteousness that was their inheritance and bequest to the world and to their own children.

Every moment in time is unique and has a unique significance as part of "human-time". There has never been and there will never be any moment as particularly important to all subsequent generations of humanity as when the almost lifeless body of "True Man" breathed out "Woman behold your Son, Son behold your Mother".

As with the Jews, the first People of God, the "Church", seen as an Institution, has failed, generation after generation to perfect the "Will of God" on Earth. 

But our Church is much more than an Institution founded on Peter. In her we can find the New Holy Family created on Calvary as recorded in today's Gospel Reading, the living Body of Christ as taught by Paul, a Church of Love preached by John, and guaranteed to be the place of Safety here on Earth where we can be sure that we will never misuse our divine gift of freedom as we let it be guided by the Mother of God who is also our mother and today is proclaimed "Mother of the Church".

Each one of us has to live on Earth truly believing "My Kingdom is not of this World" in order to witness "I will be with you even to the end of time", the Eschaton and promised New Creation.

Pentecost/Whit-Sunday

The Lord Our God knows all that fills our minds and souls. 

We who are billions are the humans created throughout time on this speck of material amongst billions of other such specks have come to know much about what we are in God's eyes. We know that we are individual persons who can know each other and the reality of our place and time of being. 

We the Jews and their Christian descendants have received the direct revelation by God of his own vast personal being and loving intentions for all mankind and we have been given the task of working with God to spread "The Good News".

IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT reveals that he creates, saves and supports our spiritual being which exists within a physical body grown out of the biological life with which he has endowed this planet. 

What we know ourselves to be is totally the gift of God. We are truly wonderful living beings, incredibly superior to all the other forms of life our God has gifted to us. We know that we have minds and that we are free to choose  how to use our reality of being in the time of our consciousness.

The Lord Our God only knows Infinite Good. Adam is not "Son", his perfect human free being is able to refuse his Creator and for evermore unto the end of time man-made sin has existed in this world.

Adam and Eve created Sin and thus we, each individual, have to avoid becoming an enemy of God by following the Original Guidance of the Holy Spirit which is then codified first for Jews but then for the use of all of us.

As history has evolved it demonstrates to us that all humans from the Equator to the Poles are capable of excusing to themselves their most despicable selfishness and first families and then societies have forgotten their Original Brotherhood claiming for themselves possession of land, chattels and even of strangers which causes them to become warriors proud to be able to defend and expand their possessions and kill their enemies.

In reality we have become the enemies of God as Empires, including the Jews of the Old Testament, attribute their wealth and power to the favour of God.

Our Loving Saviour makes our enmity to the Infinite Love of IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT absolutely clear as he accepts  the scourging, the nails, the piercing of his heart that lead to the Death that offers us the pardon for the immensity of sin with which we disfigure our world and our individual souls.

The only time on Earth when we can ever be truly free from our guilt as Enemies of God is when we stand with John and Mary at the foot of  the Cross and accept the Grace that we have to choose to become part of the New Holy Family which is guaranteed by the Holy Spirit whom today and every day we welcome into our hearts.

The only possible way for any of us to conform to God's will on Earth is by accepting the Father's Mercy created by the Son's Sacrifice which is not the possession of any human institution but freely distributed by Holy Spirit who responds to all who by avoiding sin sincerely seek his grace.

"All of us who are led by the Spirit are sons of God".

God forgive me for ever doubting your Love. Amen

Yesterday I anticipated the enigmatical answer to  "But what of this man?". Today, John's Gospel is now complete but never finished as it generates millions of ideas, thoughts and words throughout the rest of time.

We each of us have to open our beings to the promised "Spirit of Truth" which the today's Gospel Acclamation reminds us is the reason we begin our days with a liturgical celebration of the Incarnation.

There is so much truth that we can find in the Church of Peter that I have to ask myself what it is that makes me question whether it is truly fulfilling its role as preserver of the Sacramental Presence of God in this material world.

Similarly I always wonder what it was about the Jews of Jesus time on earth that he had to rectify even though they were his "Chosen people".

Today we have no difficulty in recognising that many sins are being perpetrated in defence of their "God-given Land" by those who occupy Palestine as their "Right" arising out of the response of natural justice to the evils they have suffered at the hands of " The Church of Peter, Christians" over the centuries that have intervened between the Sacrificial Confirmation of  Gods' love for the world and for all us human beings, and the "these times" in which humanity's special relationship with IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is either forgotten or denied.

It is always a sin to hammer a nail through the hand of a man. It is a still a sin to pour fire over the heads of little children whom Jesus asked us to baptise.

Today I can only grieve for all the violence that  continually plagues our world. I am only one man but I must plead for forgiveness for there is never justification in the eyes of the crucified Jesus for any violence. 

I have always regretted and tried to make up for any of my personal violent moments. Who is to accept responsibility and atone for the images of burning children from Cambodia in the 60s to the  Gaza of yesterday that have become part of my awareness of being alive at this moment?

All of this evil is the sole responsibility of  human beings who from the beginning have always ignored God's orders and then refused to acquire the Mercy that is the Sacramental Love of his very being, the free gift that is always the "Good" he sees in his creation no matter how much we disfigure it

Maranatha Lord. Come Lord. Jesus Come and fill the hearts of the faithful as you did when we were alone with you in the wonder of your New Creation.. We can do zilch without You but Nothing is impossible for you. Help us all to seek out your Mercy for all our personal sin and that of our communities which we condone by our silence and inaction

Jesus lived his life on Earth as "True Man". As true man he shared not only in religious festivities and prayer meetings. When the teaching that we have read over the last few days, took place he was not standing as a speaker at a formal dinner party or a preacher before a congregation. He was seated/reclined at table sharing a meal with his friends.

Today he has himself prepared on the beach one of those impromptu "family" gatherings, in this case a barbeque, that are often more enjoyable than more formal "get-togethers" to be enjoyed by his friends whom he will leave behind to repeat his mission of enlightenment until the end of time.

The deeds and words of his lifetime are to be recorded to guide us through our lives, but only two of the evangelists ( one possible and one sure ) are sitting on the coarse sand of the lakeshore in the pleasantly cool morning air. 

John and Peter, James ,Thomas, Nathanael, who are possibly calculating in their heads for how much they will be able to sell their fish, are still overawed in the presence of the Resurrection. Jesus is definitely their friend whose corpse disfigured by wounds had been buried by the charity of Joseph and Nicodemus but the "something greater here" is no longer disguised.

Of those present on this morning of farewell only John had witnessed the bitter end on Calvary. Peter, the designated leader, had actually denied his friendship with Jesus. The three denials during the trial at Jerusalem are now formally forgiven and the purpose of the institutional Church is established for ever.

It is sure from the words of Jesus that the Church founded by Jesus of Nazareth has to copy his life and always, in every way be directed out of itself and focussed on the eternal benefit of the "sheep". We must all be sure that there is not one material thing that is of this world that will last or live for ever and base all of our living in the real-time of "now" on the Eternal Love of God.

Peter knew this as he asked "What about this man". The evangelist John, himself provides Jesus'  enigmatical reply, but when he recalled these events and words in his old age he had been long living in the pure love of Mary who during her sinless life had never asked anything for herself other than 

"Be it done unto me according to thy word".

Dear Lord, help me to live this day guided by the prayers of Our Lady and all the Saints let me truly belong to the New Holy Family that you created during your pain and true death on Calvary. Help me to become dead to temptation and truly contrite for all the sins of my life. Let my loved ones become aware of these my words of Faith. Amen.

In today's psalm there is expressed in words the human longing for peaceful calm that can only be fulfilled when a soul has completed its span on this Earth. 

To achieve that we have to commit ourselves to living in the will of God by acknowledging/accepting responsibility for our sins and thanking IAMFATHERHOLYSPIRIT for the historical events with which he created the free-gift of Mercy which we are all to seek.

St Paul is presented to the Jewish Council for judgement by a Roman Governor who could not "get his head round" the religious squabbles of the Jews whom he had to rule. The parallel with the trial of Jesus is too obvious to be mentioned by those for whom the Resurrection was a recent event and the Second Coming an imminent expectation.

St John's Gospel of Love continues to emerge from Jesus' prayer before he begins his passion. The words are a record of the effect of the real-time deeds in the Garden and on the Hill. By the deeds of "True man and true God" in this world has been  created for us the legacy of grace that has as its sole purpose the salvation of each one of us who is personally known by the Supreme Being, that is IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT, "Our Father", Abba. Dad.

When we remember the suffering that Jesus underwent that we might be saved we should all be silent for it is totally impossible for man to reciprocate such Love. 

Nothing is impossible for God.

In the continuation of his Gospel, The Acts of the Apostles,  St Luke recalls the events that followed the Resurrection.

The Church is surely right in that she brings these events to the attention of us, the believers who need to base our lives on "every word that comes from the mouth of God" and on the events that give rise to our "Scriptures" as we live in these days that were the "those days" of two thousand years ago.

We all have an obligation to live in this world lives that reflect the life of Jesus. Jesus is the "True Man" the perfection of humanity. 

The Gospels record the three years that  IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT showed himself, taught by word and deed the way that each individual who ever lives can respond to Our Father in order that we by doing his will, can attain our share in the Glory of Eternity. 

Our Father offers his loving support to all of us. None of us is ever truly alone except when we cling onto sin and deliberately separate ourselves from the Love that IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT ceaselessly generates to search out for his lost sheep.

After a very shaky start St Paul becomes the perfect disciple and never looks back from the furrow he ploughs as powered by the Holy Spirit he broadcasts the seeds that still announce the Good News to the whole world.

Each of Paul's missions reflect the pattern of Jesus' life on Earth. Today Luke records his farewell to the Church at Ephesus, St John remembers that part of Jesus summary at the conclusion of his mission that emphasises that John and the other Apostles have witnessed his human life but "there is something greater here".

On Earth, we can never completely understand but we can all believe the Resurrection for when we follow the Way, Truth and Light nothing can harm us in this life and the death of each of us becomes the finalising of true contrition for all our sins and a glimpse of the Glory that we call "The Second Coming".

Today we have readings from the earliest days of the Church.

St Paul knows that his preaching is from God. He knows that the Resurrection which confronted him as he went in pursuit of "blasphemers" is Jesus of Nazareth, Son of God. He knows that he has become possessed by the Holy Spirit and that his whole being as a Jew has always been dedicated to the Father.

He is still human and is nervous about going to Jerusalem because he knows that he is now opposed by many Jews who cannot accept that the religion of their ancestors has been replaced by the Perfecting Sacrifice and the Resurrection of Jesus and that God not only welcomes all souls irrespective of their nationality but actively commissions this new preaching to be spread throughout the world.

In the Gospel Jesus puts into words that we can understand the totally greater than any of our thoughts, boundless infinity that is the being of God. We are given a conception of the Almighty that we can fit into our human capacity for thought but must always remember that IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is always greater.

"Glory" is nothing that can be imagined. It is always to be worshipped as it is God. God from God. Light from Light. Begotten not made. Of one Being with the Father and Holy Spirit. IAMFATHERSONHOLYSPIRIT is Glory and we can only believe.

That is why we can call Charles Lwanga and his companions "saints". They believed and none of us  can do greater in this world than that.

In this morning's Gospel reading taken from the farewell discourse given at the Last Super, the Apostles  thank Jesus for his plain speaking. "Take heart for I have overcome the world". 

Nothing could be plainer than these words spoken by Jesus but this was mere hours before he is to complete his human life on the cross by hanging with all his blood being poured out by his pierced heart. 

St John's Gospel, however, was written towards the end of his long life and by the time it was written the Temple was no more and there was a Christian Presence throughout the Roman Empire. Those who had shared the life, abandoned him at his passion and become completely converted by the Resurrection had come to realise that these events which they had witnessed during their lifetimes, were the presence of Incarnate Son of IAMFATHERSONNHOLYSPIRIT.

Those who met in the Portico of Solomon did not learn a "creed" but came there to associate with those who had personally known "Godwithus" and prepare for His return. The converts Paul met at Ephesus had never heard of the Holy Spirit and therefore had not been baptised in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as recorded in Matthew's Gospel.

I do know that I have often been untrue to my Faith but I have never doubted the words of the Gospels.

I have no trouble at all in believing Jesus' words, his comments, on the  St Thomas event but I have never had an inkling of the  the physical signs of the Holy Spirit although I hope that the whole of my prayer life is a result of 

Come Holy Spirit

fill the hearts of your faithful

and kindle within them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.

And you shall renew the face of the earth.
