The words of scripture in today's mass continue to emphasise that we must put God foremost in our lives. All our successes in life, major or minor, will come to nothing if they are centred on created matter. St Paul makes it quite plain that we have to be centered on and targeted at heaven for it is in this infinite Christ that we will find happiness. God has not created us for hell. We are real beings with the opportunity to know total happiness.

Our bodies can find temporary happiness in fornication.Vanity! Our place in the world can bring us human respect.Vanity! Our diligence at work can fill our days with self-satisfaction.Vanity! Wealth can please us now but at the moment of death a hefty bank balance is revealed as nothing but empty vanity.

Our souls can find contentment in prayer. The liturgy of the Church can fill our time with holy joy. We can devote our lives to a cycle of prayer but if we tell ourselves and others lies, this religion too is vanity. The vanity of self-satisfying worship is the most dangerous of vanities for it mouths praises of the Lord but puts self before Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Dear Lord help me to face you in truth. Purify my being with truth. Let me unravel the confusion of my thoughts to find and hold on to the thread that is your Love, the way, the truth, and the light. May your mother's prayers continue to bring help to the suffering and sick of this world and let the penance of those in purgatory soon become acceptable for you to welcome them into your presence.

All of us are living in the sight of God. Our wills are free. We have to use this freedom in the right way. If our hearts are pure then the words from our mouths are pure. If my soul is ruled by sin then my words and deeds will be sinful. The goldenwords of today's St Peter were guided by Father Son and Holy Spirit to counter the the false teaching that was strong in his day. His reknowned sermons were in no way verbiose but short and to the point.

Much can be said in few words, Our Apostles Creed contains all that our Faith teaches as the Word of God. In less than a minute the words that rule my life are said. The word "Credo" is a solid concentration of all that God asks of us in this world. That sentence in a word leaves me speechless for I know that its  pure truth  enables me to live in total peace through the millions of moments that makeup my life.

Throughout the world at this moments mass is being said by priests chosen by God to be our guides and teachers in this world. They are the successors of St Paul,  the Apostles and all the saints who have gone to their eternal reward. If our clergy  could focus their beings or their calling and take Jesus' life and death as their only aim in life we, the sheep, would be able to trust their words and liturgies.

We do not need "Goldenwords" but undefiled by hypocritical deeds words that really do come from God Our Father in heaven.

Dear Lord let me be aware of my true purpose in life. Let me bear witness to your Glory and and find the joy of your presnce to my soul in this life. I am still a sinful man bring me to the Grace won by the impossible pain of Calvary and let your dedicated servants be true to the words that they are face to face with every moment of their ministries. May Mary and all the Saints help me to face the reality that is your Word and let the Love of Father Son and Holy Spirit embrace the suffering of all the sick and wounded in this world.

I remember Martha mostly for her complaint about her sister not doing her share of the housework and just sitting. She wasn't just "sitting" she was listening to the words of Jesus and Jesus rejects the complaint for being with God is the very best we can do in this world and in the next where we will enjoy our humanity perfected by the incarnate Son. I don't remember being aware of her profession of Faith before today. 

Jeremiah warns us by his words to his contemporaries which are still true today even though we have had the grace of the presence of God with us in the flesh and sacramentally for more than 2000 years.There has got to be an end to the misuse of human freedom which is the characteristic of my generation in this world. Even in our churches words and deeds are directed against the revelations to the Old Tesatment prophets and against Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 

Martha was rebuked by Jesus but in her lifetime she would witness the restoration of life to her dead brother, the triumph of Palm Sunday and the torture and death of her Rabi. Most of all she, who already believed in the final judgement of God, would see the "first fruits of the resurrrecton" and after the death on Calvary would be able to greet the risen Lord. 

There were many others in Palestine who witnessed the birth of the Church. Am I one amongst the many who will witness its complete collapse?

Dear Lord, let me this day live without sin and know that the busyness of life has a better part. Let the Holy Spirit fill the hearts of those who have chosen to spend their time on earth in prayer and meditation so that they can hold onto the path of holiness for which they have been chosen. May Mary join with the prayers of Martha and the other saints to have the scandals that are littering the Way, the Truth and the Life revealed by the words and deeds of Jesus removed so that we the bewildered and suffering little ones can be well supported in this life and find the infinity of Love that is Life after death.

I hope that today I will be able to be more aware of the gift that has been given to me. I live and I am aware that I do so. I know that this "being" is a gift which has been given by my Creator. The Lord our God does not require anything more of me than to be wise in the midst of the cavalcade of temptation that the devil has produced in the world. Wisdom is not great intelligence. It is the search for truth and for knowledge of myself in the sight of God.

Wisdom is not clever words or wordy assessments of the posssible nature of God. It is the child who knows that his father will not harm him by word or deed. It is finding myself in the calm and cooling breeze as the prophet found God. It is every word and command that comes from Father Son and Holy Spirit and my acceptance of them.

Hiding the treasure and then buying the field without revealing it to the owner seems to be an act of dishonesty, very human but still dishonest. Buying the pearl is an honest and open transaction. It cannot be that Jesus is advocating the dishonesty of asset-stripping; the treasure in the field being the hidden value not realised by the present owners that is captured by the greed of Mamon re-named as "Private Equity".

Dear Lord let me pray this day and keep my mind away from stupid reminiscences; let me be mindful of sin and thus avoid it; let me know how to show love for my neighbour and avoid quarrels and confrontations. Let me know love and serve you in this life so that I can fulfill your plans for me. May Mary and all the Saints support the countless millions of your poor humanity for whom daily suffering is their way of life.

For two days I have not used this keyboard to record my prayers and declare my Hope in the Lord. I am still a child before my "Dad". Father, Son and Holy Spirit still know me even though I have not declared my faith and thanks for all the graces given to me.

The people of God witnessed and addressed by Jeremiah are suffering an abandonment that seems to them as total. I have never been near to that despair that Judas' understanding of himself brought about his self-eradication but for the last two days I cannot say that God has been my foremost concern.

My being is certainly a wheat field sowed with darnel. Sometimes the wheat flourishes. When the darnel begins to grow however I cannot be sure that the World with all its beauty and concerns, legitimate and otherwise is choking out the awareness of Grace and Love that feeds the wheat. Our Lord and Saviour warns us of this. When my soul is harvested it will be valued by the fruits of my life. I hope and pray that I am truly availing myself of the free gift of life and using it to know love and serve God.

Dear Lord you know what I am, let me return your loving creation of me by sincere devotion to your ways and by casting out the darnel become a harvest as fitting as possible to your Glory. Today we honour the parents of your mother. May Our Lady's perfect love and obedience so inspire our Church that true purpose and Faith return where it is so missing.

I have not attended mass for the last 3 years. I am distrustful of all the Church structures which were once my mainstay in life. I truly believe that the Sacraments are the Grace of Jesus won by his Life Death and resurrection and instituted at the Last Supper. The Apostles became priests and passed this comission onto those who dedicated their lives to God. 

I am sitting here having read the mass readings of the day. The life of Faith becomes  the Life of Christ living in us. We cannot live without the roots and the vine which is the Living Jesus. I have to ask myself whether my devotion to Father Son and Holy Spirit is truly the mainstay of my life or has it been chosen by me as compensation for my lack of ability in the world. I have not been a success by the world's standards and for a long time my life was also morally corrupt punctuated with moments of piety. 

I have often been covetous of the success and wealth of others but when reading scriptures and thinking about life and how I should live mine I know that there is only one satisfactory answer to my disquiet. I must cling to my fragile link to the vine knowing that God knows me and that there can be nothing better than that. The world will pass away but the Word will stand.

Dear Lord I am only because you will it. You create us in Love and it is in the acceptance of your love that I can have my being. Seeking out and doing your will is the only way to live with justice in this world. I can only do good by putting you first then my neighbour. May my prayers join those of Our Lady and all the heavenly souls in thankful praise of your Glory and evergreater mercy.

Mary of Magdala is the first witness. Jesus revealed himself to her. She had stood at the foot of the cross with the Mother and the other Mary. She had held onto the lifeless corpse. She had helped in the preparation for burial. She had been in despair for Jesus the great hope of his disciples had gone from this world. At that moment she was truly calling out as  the dying Jesus had done.

She did not recognise  the "gardener" but in the same second Jesus announced to the world that there is life after death albeit in a different form than our present experience. Don't touch me! Go and announce my return. Tell it to all the disciples and spread the Good News.

Bewilderment was the first reaction. We knew that his life's blood had dripped out on Calvary. He had shouted out a familiar prayer. He had breathed his last breath. His being was now pure dross. The dust, the created matter which Father, Son and Holy Spirit had used to form our human bodies to house our souls, was his only existence.

The whole of the world has been presented with the truth. The reality of my being is guaranteed by the Creator who has given us life out of his own being for he is Love. In his greatness he has no need of anything but out of Love he has shared His joy of being with the Universe in which we pass our material lives. Our first experience of life is in this world which is wonderful  but what we are to become cannot be imagined for our God is the Evergreater and we will see him as he really is.

Dear Lord support me in my more than clouded experience of what it is to be like you in being. I need to be aware of you in all my moments of life. "Thanks,"gratitude" "belief" "worship" "obedience" need to be more than words but must fill my life with Truth. May Mary and the other Marys join my prayers with those of the other saints to strengthen the Church which is not living up to the Life Death and Resurrection of the Incarnate Jesus , our Lord and our God.

Jeremiah sees and interprets. The Chosen People have forgotten the Lord. The inspiraton of God tells him that the  Temple is full of priests who do not pray. The Law is practised without thought. The leaders of Israel follow the ways of Baal. The living water flowing from God is replaced by stagnant cisterns constructed by themselves.

Why does Jesus teach in parables? His listeners have  unseeing eyes and deaf ears; they are deliberately avoiding conversion back to the way of God. Jesus is trying to wake us all up so that we do not get our lives entagled in the snares of the devil and his plaything the world and all the souls that are living therein.

In these days as at the time of Jeremiah God is not thought about or given any consideration or credit. The knowledge that fills the world is a source of pride to mankind, pride that excludes God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are not acknowledged as the Creator and Mankind is a random event operating  willy nilly in an equally random universe.

Most of us are self-blinded and with ears stopped up to the revelations of the Evergreater we live out our lives in deliberate ignorance of the Way, the Truth and the Life. Jesus is the last Revelation for he is God. How do we keep our selves open to the Word that is God amidst the pride, greed and fornication that are the main preoccupations that Human Life has become.?

Dear Lord, reach out again to your peolpe and let the poor and starving millions take first place in the line that is human time. Let our shepherds wake up to their duties and comdemn the evil nonsense that prideful men wish to foist on us. May Mary who knows the need of sick children continue to pray for all her children that we may find the joy and peace that is the free gift of her Son and yours to all the peoples of our world.

Jesus sounds peeved by the disciple who feeling that he is doing a service announces the arrival of Mother and brothers. His answer seems to be snapped back as if Jesus were annoyed with the interuption which showed that the announcer were not paying attention. The  possibility of the  subjection of the Evergreater God to petty human emotions has not figured largely in commentaries on this scriptural event.

The Church has understood from the earliest days that Jesus is the Son born of the Father in all Eternity. He is God and the Church has tried to understand Jesus' own words and formalise them into an unequivocal formula. "God from God, Light from Light true God from true God , begotten not made of one being with the Father."The true humanity of Jesus is from Mary who conceived in the normal human way but by the power of the Holy Spirit bore and gave birth to True Man."

Although James is the "brother of the Lord" he is not a sibling but part of Mary and Joseph's, and hence Jesus', extended family; these are the ones who caused the interuption. The whole of Humanity is known to Father, Son and Holy Spirit and it  we who are called to be mother brothers and sisters by doing the will of Our Father.

Dear Lord let my  being sing with joy as did Mary's when the incarnation was announced to her and let my will not question why but humbly accept the willing obedience you ask of me and my mother, brothers and sisters. Forgive us our sins. May your return to this world find Faith in your Life, Death and Resurrection still living in the hearts of mankind if not in the Church you founded.

Both Old and New Testaments speak directly to us today. It is completely clear how God wants to make the choice that will bring us to salvation. Micah confirms that there is nothing wrong in the sacrifices of the Temple but we are told to choose the path of obedience. We have to be just and caring and to always know that we live in the sight of God.

The psalm continues this theme. Inspired by the Holy Spirit the psalmist confirms that we need to be pure in heart if our words are to offer sincere worship to the Father.

Jesus is very clear that we who belong to the same evil and unfaithful generation as the one he lived among have to become upright in our prayers and honest in our devotions if we are to be confident before the Lord on Judgement Day.

Although the thought of Hell seems to be a contradiction to our concept of a loving Father, Son and Holy Spirit Jesus own words tell us that we should take this seriously as we have been offered the way to the perfection in this life that will result in the blessedness of eternal joy in heaven.

Dear Lord, help me to live in your loving presence this day and support and inspire those near and dear to me.May Mary and all the saints continue their prayers in support of all mankind in our need for Faith Hope and Charity.

Anyone who has lived in a family is familiar with the quarrels that break out among the children. Arguments about who did what to whom and about not doing what he should do are as familiar as breathing and usually end with an appeal to familial authority. " Oh mam, tell him/her!". Mary ,today, is seriously annoyed with her sister as so many guests have descended on them to witness the revivifed Lazarus and  "she" is just sitting and looking.

Jesus accepts her complaint but chides her, for sitting with God is always the "better part". Since the time of St Paul the institution that is still Church has tried to implement the words of Christ in a world that has grown too busy for its own good. Working and studying, doing good are all necessary and legitimate human concerns but even in the Church they have taken up an increasing amount of human time with a consequent forgetting of the "better part". The other great consumer of human time and effort is the attempt to contradict God's message and justify sinful behaviour.

We can be sure that Abraham was under the shade of the Oak because the heat of the day was pretty hot. (Today begins our "heatwave"). The three visitors are treated as a sign of the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit a mystery which "was hidden for generations and centuries and has now been revealed to the saints". Christ is Father, Son and Holy Spirit with us now. He is here for all  seekers after truth and holiness. Each one of us has only  to open our hearts and the Almighty Love of our Creator, Teacher and Guardian will come flooding in and the "Mystery" of life will become known to us.

Dear Lord help me to be pleasing to you this day and let the sins of my youth and the present time be forgiven. The punishment is yours to judge. This morning's revelations are the foundations of my conscious being. Let me never forget them. May Mary who cared for the child Jesus growing up with his relations know that our family quarrels are soothed only with love, lead the prayers of all the saints to plead for the Love of God to consume our time on earth and thus avoid the sins that resulted in the torture of Calvary.

Sins are never committed by accident. At the moment of sin my will can always stop the actions or the thought. God is always ready to forgive but I must try to learn from the mistake I knew that I was making in the floodlights of God's being. We cannot hide from God. Father Son and Holy Spirit is never slumbering or over- powered by the vastness of Creation or Time. The infinite possibilities that is the number of individual souls are known to him as an indivudual is known to himself; God knows me better than I know myself. 

As the psalmist, I and most of mankind ask why the Lord is here but does no act to stop the wicked acts that are happning now and at all  times there has been mankind in this Universe. I know the sin but my will to good fails and at the same moment my wish for forgiveness comes upon me and I know that I must humbly ask forgiveness to be given.

God knows that I have not led a blameless life and that I have striven but up until this time the period of my goodness always comes to an end in an instant. I continually pray to be kept out of temptation and for deliverence to be given to me. Lord stengthen my will with the grace brought into our world by Incarnation Life Death and Resurrection and let the truth of those words strengthen my being to overcome the evil that I allow into my life.

Dear Lord there is no need for any of these my words for you know the innermost of all being. I pray that I may be strengthened into holiness. May your Mother and all the Saints in heaven continue to pray for all the human souls that sinful or sinless,  in sickeness or in health, suffering or in comfort, on earth or in Purgatory are created to know, love and serve You, coming at last into face to face reality ready for eternity.

Hezekhia is desperate at the thought that his death is near. He has no idea of an afterlife let alone an afterlife that wil be be filled with the Love of God. His destiny is now over and he will be with shadows of the dead in the pit, in Hades, in Sheol. In his lament he sees that the only good to be enjoyed is in worship of God in the Land of the Living. His life is extended. It is as if God condones this attitude and has nothing in store for the dead except the lack of everything that is good about life.

Isaiah was compiled about 2,000 years ago and the images he uses are to be found in all the ancient literature that I have a faint idea about. Technology is a familiar part of life then and the first of man's  machines the loom is used as an image of life throughout the surving literature of the Middle-East. The making of cloth from the spinning to the cut off, the finished article is an easily understood image of life and gives rise to questions about who the weaver is and can we do anything other than just live our lives. Are we just a product?

Jesus brings a message to first the Jews of the Temple and then to the whole world. Our Father is in Heaven. There is a Holiness that is always Good. The Kingdom of God is with us. We can inherit that Kingom not on earth but in heaven. We are free to choose holiness and live lives without sin. Jesus is God in a way beyond our intellects to understand. He is the Evergreater Father Son and Holy Spirit. God does not need our worship but he wills us to be human filled with Love that is merciful and turns the other cheek. He wants us to be as he is in his perfect humanity.

Dear Lord save me from the Death that is the result of sin, a consciousness of total futility. Let my deeds reflect my Faith that your will is for my benefit and for the good of the whole world. May Mary's example of loving devotion be for me an inspiration and hope that I will be able to centre my will on you and know that today as always I am living in your merciful Love.

Father Son and Holy Spirit is always aware of the world which is God's creation. Isaiah knows only the Father and even so expects from him the Mercy that Jesus brings into the world. God makes another free gift to the peoples of the earth the Holy Spirit inspired the religion of the Old Testament and still inspires it to this day. Isaiah knows that those who have lived and died even in oppression but still welcoming the will of the Father will arise into the prfection of being that God's mercy brings to us.

We can never be deceived by God's words. Jesus tells me that his pathway to heaven is gentle and the share of the burden of redemption he assigns to his beloved chidren is not heavy. Words are always easy to utter but their reality is harder to handle. I must look as did St Therese of Liseaux for the "Little Way" that I am able to follow without deviating into sanctimonious self deception. Jesus knows that we are always beset by the temptations of  devil world and flesh but he has shouldered the whole burden of sin and by his life, death and resurrection created the Sacramental way to Life that is in the guardianship of the Church.

At this moment I am really trying to justify the messy corruption that comes into my mind at the mere mention of Church. We are never deceived by God but that has never been true of his ministers on earth. God cannot lie for he is Truth. I can choose between God and Devil. Life or Death. Heaven or Hell. Faith or Mamon. Spirit or Material and in these choices I am not alone for Jesus promises us the Grace from the Father to make the yoke easy and the burden light for the humble of heart.

Dear Lord in the perfection of your being there is nothing that you lack or need. In the freedom that you have given to all humanity I am totally in need of your grace which is available for all who seek you out. May our mother Mary who is now with you support my petitions that I may learn to lead a holy life which can become as natural as breathing. Let thy will be done.

Those who feel we are strong and prove it on the battlefield of life, those who successfully acquire wealth and importance in this world (this applies equally to the institutional Church) have a disadvatage when facing the reality that is the Eternity of Father Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus reveals himself the Father to those who are genuinely little ones. Those who have been gifted with Christian humility and not by their  own will but by a convesion of the heart beat their breasts always in recognition of their sins and seeking the forgiveness of our God.

Assyria will be destroyed and Isaiah attributes this cycle of History to the direct intevention of God. Today it has been revealed that at the limits of the Universe a photograph of the act of creation has been made. Can the telesecopic camera know more than the men who made it or the men who use it and interpret the data collected? We who look at this photograph are each one of us in our own particular individuality known by the same Creator whose works fill us with complete dumbstruck awe.

All the works of man are created out of matter, all the wonderous works of God that we see now in awe are of the same matter and  they will crumble to the same dust from which we are made. The  Life promised by the Evergreater will continue for those who know that everything we have, everything we know, everything that is belongs to God who loves the deceitful puny little creatures that we are and has given us power to recognise Beauty, Truth and Life in the freedom of our own Beings.

Dear Lord forgive the sins of our world and let us not be destroyed by challenging your revelation. Humanity must have some value in your eyes for the Son is incarnate in the flesh of that same Humanity. Let me not be smothered in a piety striving after holiness but let me stand in naked humility before you striving to answer your call, soul to its maker. May Mary and all the Saints by their prayers support us all as we make our ways through the snares of life.

This reading from Isaiah recounts events from  more than two and a half thousand years ago. It is recorded history but recorded by a Prophet who is also inspired by God to interpret the events as the Providence of God. He looks for God in the midst of the bloodthirsty events of the Middle East and finds him in the result of this war. "If you do not stand by me you will not stand at all". Can we find God in today's history which is happening in human time as I sit here typing at my desk? God's freedom means that all evil can be instantly eradicated ,we would be instantly eradicated, we would never have been.

We are all aware that we exist so to imagine non-existence is truly impossible for the imagination to do this exists in all of us. God's will for the World and for me is recorded in the Scriptures and interpreted by Prophets both in the Old Testament and in the New. Jesus has brought the Good News. He promises us that Father Son and Holy Spirit loves us and has through humbling himself connected us to a never ending flow of grace.

We have to respond to this reaching out to us and know that man is not an animal ruled by imprinted instincts. We have been given huge  abilities which are seen and known in the works and recorded History of mankind. Jesus makes it quite clear that we are free to make right choices and that Man setting himself up on pedastal is in danger of losing himself in Hell.

Dear Lord let me turn to you in full sincerity. I cannot trust my own thoughts or words for I am always in danger of sin. let me this day avoid sin and its occasions and be always ready to come to the end of my life. May Mary, who witnessed the refusals of Bethsaida and Capernaum and the ultimate rejection by Jerusalem, pray for all her children to accept their trials and tribulations secure in knowledge that the Resurrection of her son is the guarantee that our sins can be forgiven if we are willing to repent and accept the justice of our deserved punishment.

Europe was built out of the collapsed Empire by the warriors of the Church the monks. St Benedict was a man who wanted to be able to live in the presence of God on this earth as it is lived in heaven. He wanted everyday to be without sin and trained himself to live as did the prophets praising Father, Son and Holy Spirit at all times. 

There had been many who in the Middle East had done this alone in the wilderness but St Benedict formulated this wish for Holiness into a rule for a community of men devoted to God. There became many of these Monasteries throughout the whole of Europe but unfortuately the worldly labours of these monks created, not out of intention, wealth which the individuals had all renounced by by vowing poverty. This paradox is much more in evidence today than ever before. Everywhere in Europe there are vast buildings, many of them beautiful and a credit to the creative diligence of our ancestors, but occupied by a handful of men.

I was brought up to believe that the Henry who coveted and acquired the vast estates did a great injustice to the Church founded by Jesus. Does life in the presence of God require the wordly wealth of the religious orders? Has not the corruption to worldly values of these sites of holiness and learning not taught us anything? 

To live a life without sin is a huge problem for mankind. Even the Apostles who formed an "order" in the presence of the Incarnate Son had on many occasions to be reprimanded and  then forgiven. Is the "Rule" of St Benedict a too great a target to be reached on this earth containing within it the certainty of failure and thus becoming corrupted into various praisewothy "charism"that fall far short of Jesus.

I cannot forget the hypocrisy revealed by the recent enquiry into child-abuse in the UK. We have to forgive the sin but the atomatic respect for the Priesthood and Consecrated Religious Life can never be renewed.

Dear Lord help me to avoid looking at other people beore I have cleared the plank from my own eye. Forgive all our sins and let your Holy Spirit inspire all your Church and let each and everyone of us accept the graces won for us in super abundance by Jesus who knows what we are all thinking in the depths of our souls as our lips and bodies perform the daily habit of worship. May the prayers of Mary and all the saints support us all in life and death and in sickness and in health.

For us to be as God intended does not need any great feat of mind or body. We have had it made plain to see from the time of Moses that our souls have to be aware of the need to live lives filled with Love. St Paul who could have been a great Rabii has been prepared by his foundation on Scripture and his pondering  of this Word of God to know that God's oneness is Father Son and Holy Spirit. A one in three that can only be worshipped but never undestood.

Jesus' equality as Son is preached in the first century for it is his revelation and not some man made philosophy that will direct us to God's will for us. Paul uses analogy for us to grow the idea of Church. It is more than analogy for it is the only way we can live touching eternity. The Church is  Jesus, Holy Spirit and Father created to care for God's people as they wander in the desert of materialism beautiful to enjoy but utterly meaningless and nothing in value in comparison to the human soul each one of is. That is the truth witnessed for  us in word and example in Palestine 2000 years ago.

2000 years ago in human time the eternal God has been begotten, not made, to institute the Church the means of chanelling Sacramental Love to our souls which so easily fall into the temptations of Devil World and Flesh. I can see the Good Samaritan as an image of the first Christian but have to ask if I am doing likewise. What is happening to the Body of Christ, our Church?

Dear Lord there are no "buts"to follow your words. "Go and do the same yourself" is sharp and straight forward. Help me to be good in the way of the Samaritan. Show me how to avoid the stones that litter and  hinder us  the way to your pitiful broken body on Calvary and there receive the comfort of your last words to your beloved mother. May Mary who lived in the world but was untouched by any form of sin lead all the saints in heaven in prayer that we on earth live lives that recognise the equality of the humanity created by God.

Isaiah's vision of the glory, the power the totally otherworldliness of God is an expression of the emptiness of our own selves in the face of Eternity. We are helpless in the Presence of the living God and in awe we can do nothing but worship and obey. The acclamation before the gospel is our acknowledgement that it is in obediance that we can come to the holiness that is God's gift to us. God is the Evergreater and the best that we can do is to obey hm for that is a Truth that will never die. There is nothing more beauiful, more poweful than obedience to Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus warns that in our freedom to choose we can make the wrong choice. The Father of Lies is still spreading his filth in oppostition to the Evergreater. If we do not reject the source of evil in this world, in our flesh we will claim for ourselves the eternity that can be lived in the House of Satan. We must speak out for our Saviour and renounce Satan and all his lying works.

The world that I know is promulgating the great lie. Mankind  can choose to be man or woman. We are not creatures of God but products of our own will and some even  maintain that it is God's Will  that empty acts of fornication are pleasing to God for they are acts of love. The growing Power of Satan in this land is demanding that this warped vision of Manknd be taught to all children and that those who disagree are forbidden to teach the truth.

Dear Lord you have brought salvation to this world but we are rejecting it in evergrowing numbers. Touch the lips of your presence on earth with coals of fire that will seal them with love of Truth and complete rejection of Satan and his evil will for manknd. May Mary our Mother in Heaven help us to ensure that the suffering of Son on earth is recognised by all as the Love of Father, Son and Holy Spirit which will ensure that we all reject Satan and all his works.

It is easy to understand why the early church was sure that the Kingdom was close at hand for Jesus told them what would happen in the lifetimes of those who would pass his teaching onto all the peoples of Israel. The first teachers who had been with Jesus throughout his lifetime and heard his words were in no doubt that he planned to return. We hear of divisions about the dietry laws and circumcision but the essentials of the Parousia seem to have been undisputed. It maybe true that the whole Christian community of Jerusalem moved to Pella before the war that ended in the complete destruction, without the power of cluster bombs, of the Holy City.

As the years grew into decades there must have been plenty of disputes and honestly held opinions as the recorded words of the Lord stand in stark contrast to what the second and third generations experienced. The Gospels as they were codified keep the possibility of conflict alive but we have to be sure that the experiences of the New Testament have not been edited and adjusted to suit the growth in Theology.

There is another contrast that we have witnessed. At a recent appearance before a modern Sanhedrin, a Public Enquiry in front of  television cameras to which we all became eyewitnesses, our modern day  descendants of the Apostles were not able to demonstrate the support of the Holy Spirit. Father, Son and the Holy Spirit cannot defend the indefensible. 

Dear Lord my sins cannot be denied. There is a failure in your Church. How can my sins be forgiven if you desert your Church. Show us the way to a reconciliation that will fulfill your promise to be with us until the end of time. Maranatha. May Mary who experinced so much in her life give us the support from Heaven that we lack from our Church here on Earth.

Our relationship with God is revealed by Amos. Our Father has been completely aware of us since the moment of our creation. He has created us with the loving heart of a parent and observed all that we have done as we grow towards maturity. He is aware of the turning away from him that happened in pre- Christian Palestine and revealed the necessity for right religion through the words of his prophets. 

The Son, Jesus, is much more than a prophet. He tells the 12 to rely entirely on the providence of God to provide for their needs as they preach from town to town. What is the "peace" that they offer to each house if it can return to them? 

They preach that everyone has to return to the worship for which they were created. They preach that Father, Son and Holy Spirit is near. The Kingdom is not some other creation distant from our daily lives. The being of this world is in the being of God. God himself reveals that humanity is created to ultimately know the Glory of God and that we have a complete freedom of being to accept or not, to believe or deny, to know Eternity or to refuse the gift of life.

Everyday I try to live in accordance with God's plan and know that each pasing day in human time is shortening my chance to bear witness to the Lord of all. I have to do much more than just say "Lord, Lord!"

Dear Lord help Faith to teach me your ways. Let each second that I breath be passed in your presence. Let the sinful attractons of all the evils that are happening now be crushed by the heel of your Mother who in the Glory of your Pure presence can plead for forgiveness and the mercy you have won for us.

Although Jesus himself makes clear that his Mission is to all manknd, in his command to the 12 he also makes quite clear that they are to preach, to call to only the Jews. They are to keep out of Samaria and the Decapolis, places  which he himslf visited and in which he preached more than once during his presence on Earth.

The Lord of the Old Testament is true to his Covenant but the occupiers of the vinyard  do, in the real world, take the "King's son" and kill him. The ways of God can be witnessed but not understood for the betrayal by Judas is the  "happy fault" that is necessary for Jesus to complete his role as incarnate Son on earth.

God is still with us. The Kingdom of Father, Son and Holy Spirit is at hand. We have overwhelming grace available for the purpose of creation has been fulfilled in that betrayal has been answered in the Resurrection. We are completely fee agents who can constantly seek the face of our Evergreater God or deny him seeking non-being death for ourselves.

Dear Lord let my thoughts be turned towards you. Let me honestly seek your face and recognise the Grace that leads to the right path. Nothing on Earth is more beneficial than sincere prayer, worship and petition. All the events that happen today and ever happened before are known intimately to you. I am only in your grace. May Mary who, besides yourself,  is the only human bodily present in Eternity continue to support us, sinners on earth and in purgatory and with the Holy Spirit strengthen the priestly descendants of your Apostles.

I try to follow the path to the holiness that leads to God. God knows that I try but always fall short of my good intentions. I know that my striving after holines is the truly most important thing in my life. I have to be truly devoted to Father, Son and Holy Spirit and I truly believe that the Grace to do so is flowing without ceasing from the heart pierced by the lance on Calvary.

I am too often trapped by the matter of this world and face covetness and jealousy componded by lust of the body and a weakening of the will to resist. All of this is known to Almighty God and he knows that the fault is truly mine as I close to door to his Love. St Paul encourages us to follow the sound teaching he he has brought to the churches he has founded. Jesus tells us to be like little children.

Little children are at first all trusting and all believing. I speak from the experience of  the disappointment that there is no Santa Clause. That image of childish innocence is only partially true for I can also remember dishonesty and lies. Lust also begins in childhood and as we grow we need to understand the "sound teaching" for living by instinct will not lead us to holiness. 

Jesus is the way, the truth to eternal life that I can access only by having my will fortified by openess to his free grace. We, the adopted chidren of God, do not believe in Santa Clause but without qualms and in complete trust  turn over our lives to God who in his incarnation knows all the beauties and pitfalls of our daily lives.

Dear Lord forgive me my sins and let my faith not be tarnished by weakness in resisting temptation. May Mary your real mother whom you have given to us not be overpowered by the  vast number of sinners, who as I have done, offend the Infinite Goodness that is you Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We are all called to a personal relationship with God. We must accept him as Our Father. Jesus teaches us to pray in this way. Amos has God in a relationship with Israel that is described in nuptial imagery. Jesus uses the affectionate "Dad/Abba" to talk with the creator of all the world especially when he is pressured by the restrictions to his freedom that he has accepted out of Love for mankind.

The direct line between Father Son is the Holy Spirit, who is himself pure Love, becomes entangled when we get our questioning human freedom involved. We are puny in truth but  become more and more prideful as we become part of the empty time-filling that is our worldliness. Satellites spin around our globe carrying our messages. Poweful industrial complexes build machines our forebearers couldn't have imagined. It is hard for us to envisage anything more powerful that the humanity that can manipulate the matter of this world in such ways.

We all have to face death one day and then will find out how puny we really are. We will then see with our dying eyes what we should have seen while living. There is nothing greater than the Love of God and he always knows us as we reach out in complete self-effacing humility to touch the hem of his garment. Faith is the only answer to God's Love and it is Faith that will restore us to the true Humanity that he created us to be.

Dear Lord help me to come to you with faith seeking out for the love and mercy that is your being to help me on the right path. Your mother Mary is the perfection of creation may she continue to lead the prayers of eternity in seeking help for the lost souls still living and the Holy Souls awaiting in penitence. your ultimate mercy.

The 72 were filled with joy that even the devils obeyed them when they proclaimed that they spoke through the essence of Jesus. "In his name".This they reported with joy for it confirmed what they and other disciples had come to believe. Jesus was the promise of God announced by Isaiah. He was the all-consoling Jerusalem, he was the flood of peace overwhelming all in full spate. He was the true power of God. His being was irrisistable by all creation. Even the devils cannot disobey his delegated ones.

Jesus responds immediately. We are not to rejoice in his witnessing power on Earth. We are not to become proud of the deeds done through us. We must not be overcome by our sense of living a virtuous life on Earth for it is not our place in creation but our place in the Kingdom of God that is important; our place in the Eternal moment that is the joy brought by the sight of Father Son and Holy Spirit.

Dear Lord only you know the 72 . They have received the promised reward, the timeless reward of being in your presnce. Even they do not enjoy a bodily presence. May Mary who bore and nurtured you on Earth continue to plead for an end to  the evil suffering brought about by the wickedness of the devil working through sinful men. We all need your prayers to be added to ours as we pray that all mankind can turn to God seeking his Mercy.

The present state of Israel seems to be another completion of God's will foretold in today's passage from Amos. Amos foretells  the Holy Land again to be a place of great wealth and holiness. In today's Jersualem there is great wealth but of holiness there is little to be found and turning the other cheek is something that would be impossible for a state which always retaliates before it is wronged.

Jesus' blessing is freely given to all of mankind and the restrictons of the Old Testament are broken to open up for us the gates of Eternity. We cannot act arrogantly in the presumption that we are the ones chosen.We have been chosen not to rule the world; not to be able to increase  our wealth; not to forcibly remove others from their lands. Jesus has choen us to be the the poor people of God, the despised people humbly accepting our lot, living in a state of holiness always aware  that Father Son and Holy Spirit will show us the mercy that each of us needs.

I live in the world at the moment and am aware that we are surrounded by evil which is flourishing but each day I have to return in my consciousness to God who still searches out for me and all his lost sheep for it is he who will repair our sinful souls with the shrunken cloth of his grace to ensure that  faith does not get torn out of us by our failures at patching our weaknesses. 

Dear Lord I try to understand the teaching of scripture; I try to respond positively but sometimes my response is only half-heartd with none of the joy that being in your presence should bring. I have renounced the world the flesh and the devil but will always be in need of the grace so painfully gained on Calvary. May Mary the Mother of God continue to seek for me and all the suffering souls in Purgatory and on Earth evergreater graces to strengthen our resolves to avoid sin and worship Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Every day when I pull myself from bed I have to wake myself to the way I am each day. I have no idea which way my thoughts are going to go but by an act of will I turn my thoughts to God. I suppose that my religion is what I was taught in my family and going to church was part of my being. Many years later my soul, my worshiping self is still turned to God and I am as a little child still looking for heaven but sinning without thought.

Wavering between Father, Son and Holy Spirit and my ego is the story of my life. Greed and pride were my first faults, later lust dominated and greed changed its object to drink. Jesus tells us that he is here to call sinners to repentance for we are required to give up our sins and use our freedom to live righteously in the Love of God.

The Old Testament has God acting directly in the world to reveal his Evergreatness in order that we may come to know his Glory. This is  not a truth that needs to be investigated but a reality in which the billions of created Souls have their existence. The psalm is our prayerful reponse; a prayer in which  the Holy Spirit reveals how we should know the Father, love the  Son and be open to and obey the summonses of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Lord you know how I fall short in my attempts to do your will. Help me to focus on my own faults and sinfulness the sinfulness of others is between them and you. Let all of sinful mankind come to the realisation that each of our souls is known and loved and it is only by each one of us rsponding positively that evil will be conquered. Mary my prayers for the sick and needy are known to you. Please beseech your son to  bring health to the sick and forgiveness to sinful and fortify all of sinful manknd to accept Mercy and live in the Love of God.
